ParticipantNext time, don’t let your best hitter walk, spend money with the big boys and you won’t piss away a legit shot at returning to the World Series.
But, hey, Rogers saved a bunch of money and that’s what fans should really be happy about!
you say a lot of stupid shit.
.90 ops+ .683 ops Bo would have hurt the team more than helped.
the Jays are also #4 in payroll in the entire league.jfc..take a hike loser

ParticipantGetting close to sell time for the Jays. just a giant disappointment of a Season. Bats never got going from the WS explosion.
Gausman might be the only Real value sell, rest partsNext time, don’t let your best hitter walk, spend money with the big boys and you won’t piss away a legit shot at returning to the World Series.

ParticipantJays need to add a starter. Time to call Trevor Bauer. End the woke boycott against innocent men. The guy will play for free and still throws 95. Nothing to lose.

ParticipantNice, Hoffman blowing games with errors now too.

ParticipantJays are a worse team without Bo as they still suck at bringing in runs. He’s been much closer to his usual self recently, on a bit of a heater the last 20 games. Okamoto and Bo would have benefited greatly from playing together rather than this retarded “replacement” argument. Building a winner means adding pieces not losing pieces and trying to replace them.
Jays aren’t going back to the World Series playing like this without him either.

ParticipantI remember seeing so many say it was the end of world when Bo left….OKA has been a nice replacement for half the price.

ParticipantI havent paid attention to Saves as a stat for a decade or more. who cares about saves lol, there a 10 other stats that are more important
But Hoffman never had as close to a dominant run that Varland has. So yes, Id give him a shot to try and close out a WS
but he may not be able to either, because the best closer in the history of the league could only do it 80% of the timeJune 9, 2026 at 2:01 pm #74393Unholy_Goalie
Participantno you changed your argument to the team not making it back to the WS. which is what I responded to. thats your lame game.
Even Mariano Rivera blew a game 7 , 2-1 lead to lose the world series. No, you’re either an illiterate retard or a disingenuous sack of shit.
My question was: Do the Jays have an elite closer that they can rely on to win Game 7 of the World Series with a 1 run lead in the 9th inning vs the 9th batter yet?
Your answer is Varland (maybe) because he has 11 saves through June. Hoffman looked like that in June last year too. But he crumbled when it mattered most. So you ain’t got shit to stand on because to be able to rely on a closer is to know he’s a lock. I like Varland, I think he’s doing great so far but that doesn’t mean he’s proven he can go into that situation and get that job done. Closing games in the regular season and closing Game 7 of the World Series are two very different things. Ideally, you’d still want Varland as the set-up guy and a proven elite closer. But the Jays probably won’t be back in that position because they did fuck all to properly retain and add to what they already had going for them.
What purpose does bringing up Mariano Rivera into the discussion serve? To prove my point that if you have an elite closer you’d win 4 out of 5 World Series clinching opportunities? He closed four World Series clinching games but you’ll talk about the one he blew so it makes Hoffman not look so bad? Well, Hoffman is 0-1. Let me know when he wins four. Keep dying on that hill retard.
