ParticipantA literate person would understand Game 7 in the World Series but you missed that part.
Varland has proven he can close some regular season games for a stretch. Hasn’t proven what was set as the goal.
Nice try though, keep practicing your hooked on phonics, maybe you’ll understand one day.
no you changed your argument to the team not making it back to the WS. which is what I responded to. thats your lame game.
Even Mariano Rivera blew a game 7 , 2-1 lead to lose the world series.June 8, 2026 at 4:42 pm #74348Unholy_Goalie
Participantthe correct answer a normal person would post is.. Wow I was wrong. Varland has been amazing

ParticipantToo bad the rest of the team won’t be able to make it back to where it would matter.

ParticipantMarner hasn’t had tough competition that’s why he’s racking up the pts.

ParticipantDo the Jays have an elite closer that they can rely on to win Game 7 of the World Series with a 1 run lead in the 9th inning vs the 9th batter yet?
No?
Fantastic.

ParticipantIt’s amazing watching Jacob Misiorowski throw. And that’s what he does, he throws. All gas.
He obviously wants to be a fireball starter because that’s where the big money will be for his career but one has to wonder how many times he can throw 100+ mph pitches before something snaps. He’s a big boy and I’m sure they’re attentive to his mechanics but if he wanted to be a closer, he could pitch 20 years and probably break every closer record ever recorded with a fraction of the strain on his arm.

ParticipantI’ve seen enough. John Schneider needs to be fired. His handling of the pitching staff is what’s killing this season. Fire him now, or there won’t be any coming back this season.

ParticipantThat dope Schneider should be fired. He left Hoffman in and blew a 5 run lead in the 9th inning on the weekend. The Jays were on a win streak and it totally deflated the team. They haven’t won since. One lazy, stupid decision may have sunk this season. Hockey season isn’t even over yet, but the Jays season is on life support. What’s up next? Buffalo Bills Football? Of course, the draft and free agency will be a moderate distraction.

ParticipantHoffman is sh!t, and so is Schneider who just let him blow the game. After 2 got on, the hook should have come out. Hoffman needs to be dealt for a broken bat and some used chewing tobacco.
Its a tough spot, the Jays BP is heavily used, could have brought in seabold earlier, but he looked like a terrified deer in headlights. he wasnt shutting the inning down either.
SP keep getting injured, killing the bullpen
Hoffman is better suited at the 7th inning guy, seems to crumble under the 9th inning pressure. But its not always going to work out that way.
