There is a long list of players that played like crap here. Eventually you got to stop blaming the players and look at the system

    “Character issues in Vancouver”?

    Swamp isn’t drained yet!

They need to stop paying top dollar for guys who haven’t won shit. It’s been a vicious cycle that is constantly killing the opportunity to build a winner.

OEL was just overpaid with a bad contract. He did okay once he got bought out and moved out of the toxic Vancouver market.

He was absolutely crap here. If he’s fragile enough that playing in the Vancouver market hurt his performance that’s a character issue. Either way, he’s making more money not to play here than he’s made everywhere else he’s signed since.

OEL did good soon as he left the mess they call the Canucks. Like many players they improve immediately once they leave the dumpster fire..

I’m not sure the recent era of this franchise would know how to function without an underachieving and vastly overpaid Swede crapping all over the pay scale.

Worst case scenario, let him put in his time with his 50 point pace. Count down the years until he’s gone. Just like Loui Eriksson did he got paid did nothing and rode it out. Same MO.

You’re 2 years too late. Lol

The more likely scenario I see going down is waiting on an offer that really gets RJ’s attention. Probably up to a month before the TDL when teams are positioning for a PO push or fill a hole due to injury. The cap hit more easily absorbed. The NMC is the hurdle now the cap hit cinches it not traded anytime soon. Any potential suitor will want a long runway for their pro scouts to assess EP40’s commitment in question.
