Canucks haven’t made a good choice for GM til now. Team actually looks better in 2 months.
Last great GM was Superboss Pat Quinn may the big Irish RIP. He gave the team an identity with some good character BC boys & more.
MM has a long runway to grow as a HC & develop the mids & a team identity. RJ & scouts just beginning to fill the prospect pool. So far no lousy UFA signings for term. Moved out some vets in the way in MP & Hog. Only the 1st year of the regime & already seeing some thought & a plan in these early stages. Much more work lies ahead. Starting with a fine hiring of a HC for Abby.
But I was told PA was a breath of fresh air. Can’t keep track… every new GM is a breath of fresh air in Van… all I smell is dog farts.
I agree, PA is the worst. Never thought I would be able to say that after the Benning years.
As VHG once posted, get it right next timeImagine if he had 4 mil extra to sign Toffoli and Tanev instead of paying the Luongo cap re-capture penalty. Yes it was legal at the time of the signing but the Gillis arrogance made the NHL make sure there was a message sent to MG. Maybe then JB would have not needed more time if he had the cap space.
Benning was terrible PA even worse but it all started with the incompetence and arrogance of Gillis.

I don’t buy that. Gillis started the chaos. He emptied the cupboards and gave NMC and NTCs to aging players. Remember the Kesler trade where Benning had one team to deal with only. Bieksa Hamhuis.
Then Gillis realized holy shit this team is slow and old . The blame starts with him and snowballed as each mgmt group got worse as time went on. PA and JR are the worst mgmt group ever. Not even close.
