Nighthawk
ParticipantCanucks have had the worst management and ownership for over a decade now.Even dating back to Gillis. Even though he took them to game 7 he collapsed the future. His drafting was terrible, he left the shelves empty, he handcuffed the team with full NTCs and NMCs
Time to admits this team aside from a few bright moments have been a train wreck and the ownership through it’s entire existence has stunk.
Maybe a reset and going back to square one with the Sedins and RJ will change things but with an owner that pays its GM less than a JapaDog cart vendor I am not really expecting much. I think FA is just putting lipstick on a pig.
GMMG advised a retool or a rebuild fired for it. Of course cupboard was bear from cup runs like most teams do. Naslund injured by a dirty hy by Moore hurt. Best line in hockey then. His drafting overall was probably the worst in team history. Since then it’s all on FA & every regime he has hired. Fired TL over rebuilding properly. TL hiring JB was a domino that set the team back a decade plus. JR/PA regime did ok on draft capital & UFA’s.

ParticipantGM’s make mistakes, they certainly did with regards to EP40, hand is dealt move on.
It’s RJ’s problem how to deal with him now whether he’s cool with him floating the rest of his deal out.

ParticipantThere is a long list of players that played like crap here. Eventually you got to stop blaming the players and look at the system
Yes, paying a player before winning is the biggest flaw in said system in my opinion.

Participant“Character issues in Vancouver”?
Swamp isn’t drained yet!
They need to stop paying top dollar for guys who haven’t won shit. It’s been a vicious cycle that is constantly killing the opportunity to build a winner.

ParticipantOEL was just overpaid with a bad contract. He did okay once he got bought out and moved out of the toxic Vancouver market.
He was absolutely crap here. If he’s fragile enough that playing in the Vancouver market hurt his performance that’s a character issue. Either way, he’s making more money not to play here than he’s made everywhere else he’s signed since.

ParticipantOEL did good soon as he left the mess they call the Canucks. Like many players they improve immediately once they leave the dumpster fire..
