New rumor Panarin will go to EDM to play with McDavid without an extension being worked out

Where in the hell are you seeing this? There’s no way he’d live there for even half a season. Edmonton is in cap hell with really not many ways to get out from under it enough to even fit half of Panarins contract.

    I think hes joking.

    EK is at it again

From his latest blog RE: Panarin

“They’re all-in on Ovechkin’s final Cup run.Panarin would give them another elite puck-driver to take pressure off Ovi and Kuznetsov. The Caps are willing to part with futures.”

Kuznetsov! Who hasn’t played an NHL game since 2024!

He found an article he wrote years ago, copy and pasted it.

Im ready for an underwhelming trade return.[/quote

Im hoping that its closer to what we got for Miller, rather than what we got for Kreider.

However because of how he publicly put its all out there and how he handles these things, it is definitely a concern. The real issue is that Panarin wants a contract extension, a pretty sizeable one, with whatever team he approves a trade to. However, what makes me more optimistic rather than cynical about it, the teams who are supposedly in on him… LA, SJ, WSH and DET, all have the cap space next year to do it and decent prospects to go after. WSH less so than the others and I dont think they want to split the Protas brothers, I think theyre more likely to trade McMichael.

You guys are impossible to please. The jury just came back.

They’re doing a proper tear down…it just isn’t done yet. They can’t trade NMCS because that’s gets you guys up in arms too

Gorton didnt draft well, Drurys picks are still tbd. Perrault looks the part. Laba was kind of a diamond in the rough as of now. And why do you guys get so upset when he trades picks if he doesn’t draft well?? 🤣

I swear it’s like I’m dealing with children up in here 🤦

You keep saying were impossible to please… when the point thats being made is that it confirms what many have said that this team is/was not good enough to win the Chip. Again, the problem isnt that hes tearing it down now. The issue is that its happening now and not 5 years ago, or even before.

The reason we had a Goodrow contract that was so difficult to move is because Drury made it that way.
The reason we have a Zib contract that we cant move is because Drury made it that way.
The reason we have a Miller contract we cant move is because Drury made it that way. He didnt write the contract, but he didnt have to trade for him.

You cant sit here and call us children when you’re playing both sides of the coin whenever its convenient for you. The people who have been wanting a proper tear down have stuck to their guns about it for years, and this goes back to the signings of Panarin and Trouba. They never changed their opinion, win or lose.

I saw the light. Like Drury did. He probably had to convince Dolan the same thing I’m trying to convince you guys

Thats the ironic part, you were telling me that they weren’t good back then, and I didn’t believe you. Now I’m trying to convince you the same thing you told me two years ago. So it’s almost like you just want to fight me on this 🤣

See, the problem is, many of your counterparts have been saying this team isnt good enough to win for years. That the team was deeply flawed from the get go and a proper tear down should have happened sooner.

This team for all 5 years has been one of the worst in the league at scoring at even strength and they’ve also been a horrible transition team coming up the ice.

LAF and Kakko, regardless of Drury, were getting drafted 1st and 2nd. It was under him that their development failed.
What happened with Miller? Went from a 40+ pt defenseman, to a complete defensive liability.

As far as the rest… there is a reason why I constantly keep pushing to fire Ortmeyer and Glass.

My question is, if the Rangers cant win with Panarin, Trocheck and whoever else they trade, how will they be competitive afterwards??? Picks and prospects wont be ready for at least 3 years. Why keep Miller and Mika around? Why would they want to even stay?

Its all part of the plan.

I’d keep Laf. Would be another mistake moving a younger player for a guy that would be 30+ to start next season.

Generally speaking, I agree, I dont want to bring in a decent player and all of a sudden start winning a few games. I want this team to be bad, properly bad.

On the flip side. Aside from someone like Shane Wright, do you honestly think youll get anything of decent value for LAF at this point? No shot were getting a 1st for LAF. Maybe we will get some mishmosh of 2nd, 3rd round picks.

Were stuck until 2030 with the guys we cant move, could just throw Meier on it. This is the move that many of the tanking teams did. Taking on these aging, bad contracts.

I’d prefer Meier too but I brought it up because I think that’s what we’d be looking at if they traded Laf. His value is the pits. They owe it to him to play him on LW permanently and see what happens.

Its just weird with Meier, doesnt feel like he ever fit with that Devils squad. However if were talking in the right now, hes definitely an upgrade over LAF. Its not something Id do at the deadline though, maybe in the offseason. Dont want to do anything now that could win us games.

Would you guys do Timo Meier or Huberdeau for Laf? All 3 guys have been equally bad this year.

It would be Meier all day, but its not the kind of trade we need. But on the flip side, its hard to judge where LAFs value is at. Youre also getting a guy basically guaranteed to score 25-30 goals. Interesting thing with Meier is I never got the impression that he ever really met expectations. Never felt like he gelled with that squad.

Tsyplakov will be 30 scorer now🤬

Its a gamble with him. Hes not a young prospect, hes 27. We would have likely had to give up a 3rd+ with Soucy and I think Drury would rather hoard the picks.

Anyone interested in taking a flyer on Shane Wright? Id go for it! Cant see the Rangers developing him, they havent been able to develop anyone in a decade. What would the price be?

We discussed a 1 for 1, LAF for Wright deal, and it got a unanamous yes from everyone. Doesnt happen often.

If by the end of this TDL he has

    2 firsts this year draft
    2 firsts next year draft
2 firsts in the ‘28 draft

It would be a homerun. Requires trading Trocheck which I’m not sure is a guarantee. Panarin definitely gets one of those tho.

Im not sure what is considered the best draft where teams insist on keeping that year

Its this one, 2026. Its been talked about for a couple years now as expected to be very deep.

tj, before Fox and Shesty went down, we were still a .500 team, and we were like bottom 3-4 in the East.

We might not have been giving up much, but we also werent scoring.
