ParticipantI hear you Wiz that was a bad pinch after a long offensive keep by the Blackhawks.
Peg has made them pay for every defensive mistake, like the pk and the wide open forward in front of the net
Or Rinzel trying to stick handle at the blue line, again.
Growing pains

ParticipantLet’s see Ottawa s 1st goal was lucky, bounced off the back wall hit the back of Knights glove on the fly and went in the net.
2nd goal there was a breakdown of coverage in our own zone, big enemy of the goalie he was 5 feet in front Knight with a ton of time and space and as he waited Knight looks like he leaned forward which exposed the top half of the net and he buried it.
3rd goal Kaiser made a bad pinch.
They did get a couple of 2 on 1 chances they missed on, this is where i think they lose the replacement forward coming off the bench

ParticipantI believe when it comes to the long changes for the Blackhawks, 2 things, the dmen forget when the player is going off the ice the player coming in can sneak behind them off the bench, 2nd they need to play 200 feet of hockey, so shooting it in and getting off the ice so they keep shifts short especially when leading.
Id like to see the dmen use their legs more to get the puck out and force the forwards to come up and play them so they create better passing lanes

ParticipantLooks like Cooley signs for 8 x $10, i believe i saw last night defenseman for the stars sign Harley for about the same money and term.

ParticipantSince we have such a good penalty kill and when we are winning and teams like the Kings and Senators keep us on the ice for long shifts on the 2nd period, i would put my pk unit out there after a long shift and keep a fast forward at center ice or even near the opponents blue line and force them to decide to collapse or honor the forward cherry picking, then the Blackhawks can shoot the puck down the forward negates icing or even may have a breakaway chance.

ParticipantAlso can i get a rule clarification, if you deflect a puck with your stick that isn’t considered possession? I thought that’s the only time you can call the play dead not when you see the deflected puck headed into the Senators net, hahaha, refs=bums

ParticipantI gotta say i enjoy that we have a very good penalty kill. Rinzel didn’t take kindly to the high hit so he went and gave him a lasting cross check at center ice.
It sends notice to players if you are going to come in high on your hits we are going to retaliate and sure we might get penalized but it doesn’t matter because you ain’t going to score.

ParticipantTough road trip coming up it will definitely give us a better idea who the Blackhawks are. No Slaggert tonight?
Even though they had that stretch they are a tough team to play against and that will go a long way this season for them.

ParticipantI also really like how they are fighting constantly throughout the game to get on the right side of the puck, the little things repeated over and over and over again.

Participant2nd period stunk but really happy with the 1st and 3rd periods.
It was nice to see the Blackhawks get more physical in the 3rd.
I like it when we play teams with bad defense or slow defenseman and leaky goalies.

ParticipantIt’s great to hear that the baby Hawks played really well today. It sounded like they really struggled against the eagles but then bounced back the next night to shut them out 4-0.
I was really hoping to see the ice hogs play like this with a bunch of KD picks from 2022 and 2023 on the roster.

ParticipantOkay they survived the 2nd, the time out helped. It really is harder to win these games when Kaiser isn’t playing as well, i hope he has a great 3rd period.

ParticipantI thought Donato was taken down as well
I’m sure this isn’t off sides

ParticipantSo how many guys are they going to let get behind them
