Knight only had to defend half the ice, since they’ve gone 6 dmen the opponent has been getting many more one time angles vs the goalies

It’s a team sport LA and the dmen and forwards are not doing a good enough job with the extra forward instead of dressing the 7th dman

That’s what happens when you have them practice yesterday. They are a step slow tonight.

Like Teuvo what was he doing on the PK he essentially made it a 5 on 3 when he lazily found himself on the outside of Barzal

Honestly since they sent Rinzel down they’ve looked worse and worse in their own end

Damn Arty can’t hit the broad side of the barn, don’t get any better chances than that other than an empty net

    That’s too bad

It’s an interesting concept, from what i understand they practiced yesterday and with the lay off it seems like they are more concerned on instilling consistent habits in the players then being concerned about their energy level for games.

It makes a lot of sense to me why some games it looks like they have no energy

If the way we were winning was unsustainable in the beginning of the season then logic would say we need more talent, 3 ways of getting more talent is FA, trade or draft closer to 1st instead of 31st? At least they are guaranteed one avenue of getting better.

Saying tanking is the only way ignored reality. The Hawks didn’t win those Cups because they lost on purpose, they won because they drafted and developed players outside the top of the draft, and had competent management. Tons of teams tanked just as hard and are still irrelevant. Tanking gets you picks, it doesn’t build a dynasty. Development does.

If tanking worked like people claim, the Hawks wouldn’t be the exception_every bottom feeder would be a contender. High picks
Didn’t win those Cups, drafting, development, and smart trades did. Losing on purpose isn’t a strategy, it’s an excuse.

If tanking were the only way, every rebuilding team would eventually contend. The NHL has shown over and over that development and scouting beat draft position

Tanking is what bad organizations hide behind. The Hawks built a dynasty because they were elite at development, not because they were elite at losing.

Bedard isn’t a rebuild, he is an opportunity. Tanking got Chicago a player, not a team. Until they show they can draft, develop, and build depth like the old Hawks did, “tanking works” is just a cope.

Nope I’m saying if you are willing to commit to a rebuild and accumulate many high end picks and develop them, which they are doing right now, is the best way to do a rebuild.

To say the 2000s the Blackhawks were good at developing players who you crapping. They were so disorganized, so what you are saying is you can develop Hall of fame players like Kane, Toews, Keith, Seabrook? Sorry i disagree.

If we are the worst team in the league next year i will begin to agree about KD, but all along i said this is going to take 4 to 5 years.

If I’m right all these other teams that you guys love because i guess they are building their teams the right way whatever that means, they will begin to pass talent wise, which will turn into wins.

Thanks coach i appreciate all the information you keep providing. Good stuff keep it coming.

Merry Christmas and happy holidays to you and yours as well, that goes for everyone else here.

I’m bummed that Bedard and Nazar are hurt being at the Philly game you can see how that offense is struggling to generate anything.

The silver lining is we are in line for another top 5 prospect. I’ll just repeat what i said before, watching the Red Sox, Cubs, Oklahoma City Thunder, the Bears to a degree, not many have the stomach for this but this really is the best for the future of the franchise no matter how much the fans hate it.

SFG you really are all about instant gratification.

They went being in another gm because he would destroy everything KD built then we’d be looking at another 5 to 10 years before we saw the playoffs.

Without Bedard and Nazar they can’t generate shit.

Yea coach its been a bad stretch with Bedard injured, now Nazar.

Everyone needs to just keep doing their job, playing on the right side of the puck and through the opponent.

Just keep reinforcing those good habits throughout the team. Back to basics, back to stacking one good shift after another.

Thank you for addressing the back up goalie who has zero confidence right now.

Brossoit will soon be brought up to the big squad if he’s not claimed off waivers.

I’ve said before not here but another blog, 4 years of drafting in the top 5 is what you want in a rebuild, glad they have had a taste of winning and what it takes to win but my other theory is when you’re a pretender you hurt your own rebuild.

For now just keep playing the kids that are playing the right way and build up that valuable NHL experience.

Next season or by seasons end we will welcome the additions of Kantserov and Frondell, maybe even Boisvert… and we’ll see what deal KD makes to bring an impact player over.

But as i said before they gave us a glimpse of what they’ll be next year on a more consistent basis

Kansterov will help because he is a skilled 200 foot hockey player and goes to the dirty areas.

Lardis goal today was in front of the net

Plus the young dmen getting these tough games in will help as well.

And I’ll just keep saying what I’ve said before once the kids realize they have to be mean bastards in this league the team will begin to have playoff aspirations.

You already see it with the next captain of the Blackhawks

Ehhh i don’t think the problem is size as much as want. I think the loss to the Leafs really hurt this team mentally.

Our best player being hurt doesn’t help either.

These kids are learning and i don’t care what their size is vs the Habs what happened to driving the net and having support or even doing a drop pass as the forward forces his way to the net, it is a lost art, no they are staying outside and constantly looking for a perfect pass which is rarely there now because the league adjusted to them.

What i don’t understand is if you are the better skating team why on defense the players are not playing on the hip of each player in the zone?

Gotta play on the right side of the puck and no matter your size you must be physical you can’t play fly by hockey and when they lose by big numbers it’s exactly how they play.

Hate to say it but I don’t think they’ll win another game with Soda in net, he looks terrible now
