ParticipantNot too many idiots saying “we don’t need you” to Ohtani anymore.
They didnt need him.
They didnt lose because of him.Fakepartofme
ParticipantI guess……back to watching the leafs.

Participant“The dodgers are going to sweep the Jays”
Uh oh.Statistically, the Jays have dominated the mighty dodgers so far.
In fairness, I don’t think many people outside of the Jays clubhouse expected this. Still work to do, but what a wild series.
It was never going to be a sweep.
But still lots of series left.

ParticipantThis season is far from over but there isn’t much to suggest it’s going to get better than this as their schedule gets tougher. They have no assets to make trades to improve this team. Maybe they need to do what the Jays did and suck ass this year and then shock everybody next year.
Other than they had the same record this time last year and won the division, they are missing their 1B goalie, willie and Tanev.
Not the end of the world. But the leafs did screw themselves by trading away so many picks and assets. The laughton trade looks worse and worse by the minute.
Another problem for the leafs is Matthews looks like a decent 2nd line center. I think I heard he has 5 5on5 goals since feb 1st. Put him 250th in the league.

ParticipantI have to say, I’ve enjoyed watching that Jays run. Must be amazing for the long time fans.
Its been amazing, easily the most fun Ive had watching any Toronto sports steam since the Jays last run in 2015/16.
These Jays are everything leafs fans wish the leafs were. The raptors run was fun as well….but Im not a big fan of watching basketball.

ParticipantI expected more heat on the Leafs for their lackluster beginning of the season. Guess everyone’s watching baseball?
Meh, I always wait until about the 20 game mark in the season before worrying or getting excited about their play.
But ya, the leafs are a very distant second to the Jays right now.

ParticipantYes, they do. It’s been 58 years. Blind faith is for cults.
It like religion, you have what you called blind faith.
You either believe or not. You do not believe in the Leafs.
You don’t have faith which probably explains your hatred for this team. It’s ok if you don’t have faith in the Leafs. It’s your choice.
Just because one doesnt have “blind faith” in something doesnt mean they have to hate that something. Its not a one or the other option.
But in the incels case, yes he dislikes the leafs.

ParticipantAnd you know what? That’s fucking fine! NOBODY expected the Jays to get out of the division, let alone to the big show. The team had a hell of a run, played out of their minds, and did something spectacular. But you STILL find reason to bitch. Only one team wins the championship every year, so every other team is an absolute, utter failure and deserves to be shit on? No wonder you’re such a miserable prick.
I stopped reading most of your back and forth with Cush once you mentioned trading Tavares. Literally, the dumbest suggestion ever, (which is saying something coming from you). He will retire a Leaf, 100%. You just make up bullshit scenarios so that you can bitch that they never happen. Get some new material, or just do everyone a favor and fuck off for good.
Agreed.Fakepartofme
ParticipantI will always remember that home run… I literally got up and cheered out loud by myself waking up my gf who had to get up at 5am for work lol. She came out and literally said “you’re lucky it’s a Toronto team succeeding in the playoffs and that you still wake up with me tired as hell to make me breakfast, but you’re done cheering right?” I said “maybe, the game isn’t quite over yet” to which she looked at me with half asleep eyes and said “I’ll put my ear plugs in, goodnight…”, then she looked back towards the bedroom and then back towards me and then said this like she had to: “my love” and then walked away 😂
Same.
What a great homerun and moment.Fakepartofme
ParticipantLiving rent free in both your heads. The Jays were saved by Springer from the typical Game 7 disaster that haunts Toronto teams. Good for him. Great for the Jays. They overachieved this year and worked their way to the World Series. But now they play a team that would have to throw their season away to lose. The Dodgers are stacked. Ohtani is their #4 pitcher at this point. It’s going to be a miracle to beat the Dodgers. Their pitching is dominant top to bottom and they have the best player of a century. Oh, and of course, in typical Toronto sports fashion, they have a former Blue Jay, Teoscar Hernández, who will probably beat the brakes off them because that’s how Toronto teams roll. I’m sure there will be a lot of butt hurt fans that Ohtani is rolling into town, still angry he didn’t sign in Toronto, but he didn’t even have to play well to beat the Brewers. And they still swept the Brewers. Jays lost 3 games to the Mariners and narrowly got out of Game 7. Dodgers shouldn’t have much trouble at all.
As before, I’d be happy to see the Jays overcome the odds but this is probably where their run ends.
can never enjoy anything, always negative. what a sad loser.
Yup, very sad.
The Jays have had an amazing run and year, what an incredible season it has been. Its been so much fun to watch.
Dodgers have lost 69 games this season, they are beatable, heck their season record this year isnt even in the top 10 all time.
The Dodgers are a juggernaut for sure. But you cant count the Jays out, any time I have, theyve quickly proven me wrong. Its been awesome.
Oh and “Springer saved the Jays from disaster”? Your top players are suppose to have top moments and big plays. And from “disaster”? WTF, the Jays were predicted to win 75- 82 games this….the ALCS was all gravy, nowhere near disaster.
He simply has no clue, complains about everything and things that dont even exist. -
