ParticipantJays on fire!!!

ParticipantOf all the things that have ever happened, they hadn’t happened until they did happen. Crazy stat.
Marner was nominated for a Selke 3 seasons ago.
i guess that happened
Oh just to be nominated!
For some, that nomination has a 5 year shelf lifeFakepartofme
ParticipantMArner wasnt staying…even at a ridiculous $14m.
Apparently he had spoke to players in vegas about vegas earlier in the year.He wasnt staying at all and spending $14m on him…just like $10.9…isnt worth it. HE DISAPPEARS IN PLAYOFF GAMES 5-7.
So move on.
If a person wants to whine about leafs not keeping marner…whine about how marner who apparently was ready to move on, screwed the leafs out of Rantanan.Fakepartofme

3.5M is not a top 6 winger. Move Kampf and Reaves out, and we have like 9M and change, not to mention Jarnkrok.Let’s see what Tree can do before opening night; it’s only July 2nd.
But who the heck is trading for Kampf and Reaves? Also who has a top line winger that they are willing to move? Im sure Tre has a list of possible candidates, but do the leafs even have what the other team would want?
Ya cant mortgage the whole future.
I wish this were NHL 2023 on PS4….probably could get a 4th for Reaves. lolStill early though

Participantits not likley Matthews would score 60 again whether Marner was there or not.
Matthews is the only player to do it twice in the last 30 years and anyone who did it 3 times, played in the 80sOvechkin only did it once.
Marner did not want to re-sign, and wouldnt let the Leafs trade him (his right), but still fucking annoying if he was leaving anyway.
no point crying over it. hes goneApparently Marner had no intention of staying the whole past year. That’s annoying.
If true, had he accepted a trade, I think he could have save his reputation with most fans in Toronto.
Now.I just cant stand him.
And yes of course it was his right to not waive….but fack himFakepartofme
ParticipantOf the 6 highest spending teams during FA last July…only 1 made the playoffs apparently.

ParticipantSo I’m just looking things over and here’s a little interest.
Maccelli: $3.43 million (40P estimate)
Roy: $3 million (30P estimate)Find another guy for $3 million who can dump 30P in and bang, there’s Marner’s 100P replaced for $9.43 million while offering far more balanced scoring.
Yup.
As I posted earlier, grab a skinner, patches and or Nyquist on one year deals….get two or all three.
Im sure cowan will play a role as well.Or maybe spend a little more and get one of Olofsson, beauvillier or roslovic…but the term may need to be longer

They’re in win now mode though, so I definitely could see them moving Cowan for the right player. They’ve been in “win now mode” for 5 years. Time to re-access.
Besides, I think Cowan is part of their plans going forward….at least for this year.Fakepartofme
ParticipantMy guess is that Robbie is a sign and trade as part of a top 6 deal. Toss Cowan in and we can hopefully pick up somebody good in their prime.
Honestly, the leafs simply cannot afford to lose any “high end” prospect they have left. Keep Cowan. This team isnt any closer to going a cup run as of today. Save your bullets.
I think Tre goes bargain bin shopping in the FA marker….maybe skinner, patches and nyquist on a year deals.
Dumping Kampf and reaves wont bring back anything….other than a late round pick.
Maybe adding Robertson…gets a player back with a pulse….not sure its a top 6 winger though.Fakepartofme
ParticipantI honestly cant see any of my replies.
Lawsie
Beggers can’t be choosers at this point. Leafs need to add some offense into the top 6 any way they can. JT or Roy can both play the wing if needed. The talking heads are all saying nobody is selling. So the options are Ehlers …..or somebody’s bad contract (Kadri).
Or….dont make a bad trade for a long term mid range contract for a 33/34 year old.
I believe the leafs 1st they traded for Carlo is top 5 and 10 protected – gets booted to 2028. I think. If so, I dont mind if the leafs are completely garbage this year, get the 10th pick and save cap for next year.
Time to see if Matthews can really carry this team. Im not 100% sure he can.
We’ll see.
Either way, dont make a bad trade simply because you are perceived to be in a “beggars” position.Fakepartofme
ParticipantSo now people want to bring back Kadri?
Geez.
4 years left at $7….got 67pts last season…not bad
But been there done that, time for some new ideas.Fakepartofme
ParticipantKadri for Kampf and Jarnkrok, straight up.
Why would Calgary do that?
The leafs are fine down the middle, they need wingers.Fakepartofme
ParticipantSurprised leafs passed on holmberg at 2 years 1.55
There’s a lot of players the Leafs passed on in that price range (1.5-2.5) that are better than Holmberg.
Eller, Sturm, Lafferty for a 6th, Faksa, Perry…
Leafs could have had a totally different bottom-6 with all the “savings”, they were going to sign all these fantastic UFAs…
Instead, we still got guys like Kampf, Jarnkrok, McMann, Robertson, Pezzetta…
Perry is up to $4m with bonuses…so nowhere near that range.
We’ve already had lafferty…so it wouldnt be much change there.
The off season isnt over for another 2 months.
Lots of time.Fakepartofme
ParticipantSo we are keeping our powder dry?
Until the trade deadline?
No real picks to trade.
So our trade deadline powder will be dry as well.Fakepartofme
