And you know what? That’s fucking fine! NOBODY expected the Jays to get out of the division, let alone to the big show. The team had a hell of a run, played out of their minds, and did something spectacular. But you STILL find reason to bitch. Only one team wins the championship every year, so every other team is an absolute, utter failure and deserves to be shit on? No wonder you’re such a miserable prick.

I stopped reading most of your back and forth with Cush once you mentioned trading Tavares. Literally, the dumbest suggestion ever, (which is saying something coming from you). He will retire a Leaf, 100%. You just make up bullshit scenarios so that you can bitch that they never happen. Get some new material, or just do everyone a favor and fuck off for good.
Agreed.

I will always remember that home run… I literally got up and cheered out loud by myself waking up my gf who had to get up at 5am for work lol. She came out and literally said “you’re lucky it’s a Toronto team succeeding in the playoffs and that you still wake up with me tired as hell to make me breakfast, but you’re done cheering right?” I said “maybe, the game isn’t quite over yet” to which she looked at me with half asleep eyes and said “I’ll put my ear plugs in, goodnight…”, then she looked back towards the bedroom and then back towards me and then said this like she had to: “my love” and then walked away 😂
Same.
What a great homerun and moment.

Living rent free in both your heads. The Jays were saved by Springer from the typical Game 7 disaster that haunts Toronto teams. Good for him. Great for the Jays. They overachieved this year and worked their way to the World Series. But now they play a team that would have to throw their season away to lose. The Dodgers are stacked. Ohtani is their #4 pitcher at this point. It’s going to be a miracle to beat the Dodgers. Their pitching is dominant top to bottom and they have the best player of a century. Oh, and of course, in typical Toronto sports fashion, they have a former Blue Jay, Teoscar Hernández, who will probably beat the brakes off them because that’s how Toronto teams roll. I’m sure there will be a lot of butt hurt fans that Ohtani is rolling into town, still angry he didn’t sign in Toronto, but he didn’t even have to play well to beat the Brewers. And they still swept the Brewers. Jays lost 3 games to the Mariners and narrowly got out of Game 7. Dodgers shouldn’t have much trouble at all.

As before, I’d be happy to see the Jays overcome the odds but this is probably where their run ends.

can never enjoy anything, always negative. what a sad loser.

Yup, very sad.
The Jays have had an amazing run and year, what an incredible season it has been. Its been so much fun to watch.
Dodgers have lost 69 games this season, they are beatable, heck their season record this year isnt even in the top 10 all time.
The Dodgers are a juggernaut for sure. But you cant count the Jays out, any time I have, theyve quickly proven me wrong. Its been awesome.
Oh and “Springer saved the Jays from disaster”? Your top players are suppose to have top moments and big plays. And from “disaster”? WTF, the Jays were predicted to win 75- 82 games this….the ALCS was all gravy, nowhere near disaster.
He simply has no clue, complains about everything and things that dont even exist.

Man we were talking about the final season of Matthews contract so relax a bit. The D won’t be looking pretty by then, Rielly will be 33, McCabe will be 34, and Tanev will be 37 and all 3 of them will be signed for 2 more years. There will be nothing notable in development since the leafs have nothing notable in the upcoming drafts. I can see Matthews, an American from Arizona, moving on. The team will likely be starting to look like TB is this year so my hope is that he allows a trade in his final year of his contract if so and he doesn’t burn the leafs like Sundin and Marner have.
A lot can happen in the next 2.5 years. He’s been in the playoffs every year since he’s been here (hasnt performed that great on a consistent basis), he loves it here and they could still go on a nice playoff run.
The D is already old and will get slower…we all knew that. But if they stay decent they could be moved out for picks or parts if things fall apart…1st rounders?…doubtful. But we’ll see in several years.

Some peeps swore up and down that Matthews would be leaving the last time he was an FA, didnt happen, not even close. Could things change, of course, we’ll see. Him and McD will be FA’s that year, could the leafs sign both for team “friendly-ish” deals. Sure why not.
So many things could happen in the next couple of years, no sense going doom and gloom 6 games into this season worrying about the 27/28 season.

The leafs have made some bad TDL trades and blew their 1st rounders for the next couple of years, that’s gonna really hurt them (as expected). So I expect a quiet deadline.
But the season has barely begun so not too worried. Heck, nowadays I dont worry about the leafs at all. 🙂

No, Knies would stay. Leafs have him for 7 years and he shouldn’t be moved, they’ll need him later. He’s still young enough to become an impact player later on much like Kadri would have been had he not be traded.

After you trade Matthews and Nylander, the rest of the team knows there is no longer any reason to stay on this team and all agree to move on as well. Tavares and Rielly would beg to be traded off a lottery team.

Traded at the draft:
Matthews: Two 1st round picks + top prospect + young roster top-six FWD or top-four D
Nylander: 1st round pick + top prospect OR young roster top-six FWD or top-four D

Traded at the trade deadline to a contender who will overpay for a Cup run.
Tanev: 1st round pick or young RHD or top D prospect
McCabe: 1st round pick or young D prospect
OEL: 1st round pick or young D prospect
Tavares: 1st round pick or young top-six forward
Rielly: 1st round pick or young D prospect

If anybody questions if these players can get a 1st round pick, the Leafs traded a 1st + a prospect for Laughton and Carlo so go fuck yourself and learn how the trade deadline makes teams vastly overpay every year.

In theory, a giant sell off could yield the Leafs as many as eight 1st round picks (plus their own) and at least two top prospects or young roster players.

If the Leafs have nine 1st round picks in one draft and even only 3 or 4 of them become useful top-six FWD or top-four D plus their own lottery pick becomes a franchise player, they could literally overhaul their entire team in one year. If they tank for two more years, they could add one more franchise player plus one more top-six FWD or top-four D.

They could use all their 2nd and 3rd round picks on depth pieces and keep drafting goalies in hopes of finding a future goaltender too.
None of the above will happen. NONE
The leafs drastically overpaid for laughton…so go fuck yourself learn that just because the leafs got robbed doesnt mean the leafs will be able to rob other teams.

Also, its 6/7 games in…so STFU and quit your damn whining.
