ParticipantHe can’t shoot the puck. There’s no velocity. There’s no way he’s not injured. Whatever the case he still needs to find a way to score.

ParticipantYou should rename yourself ‘Zen-zul’

ParticipantTwo huge factors this year are Knies and Pacioretty. They are both big strong bodies going to the net, creating room, causing havoc, taking the body, and generally drawing attention to the net front which is actually creating some space for our skill players. We’ve never had it at this level before. We no longer look like a total perimeter team.
Secondly, we had a 6-3 advantage last night in rush chances. The long pass has worked as an option. The Florida d, while very big, is not the most mobile or effective puck moving group. I actually don’t think it’s as good as last year. I’d personally take Brandon Montour over Seth Jones, and OEL is a better puck mover than what’s on their bottom pair.

ParticipantWe both agree on what Keefe brought but honestly? It always felt he got out coached in the playoffs. Played around with line ups too much. I guarantee after the game 5 loss in the first round he’d have swapped some guys out whereas Berube knew Patches was the guy. Has been against Florida too! Definitely makes me realize Berube has say in who Tree brought in (like Patches and maybe others)
Dubas simply has his fingerprints on the team as it is. I find a lot of teams that have success in the playoffs after firing their GM usually has the previous GMs fingerprints all over it. They just couldn’t figure out how to get over the hump. Not saying the leafs have done that quite yet but they certainly look different.
-AaronThe goaltending, the D group, and the bottom six forward group were all largely hot trash during Dubas’ tenure. All of those components are vitally important to winning playoff hockey. He simply was not able to effectively round out his roster. Tree has been able to address these areas.
Keefe is an X’s and O’s coach obsessive with details but whose lack of composure in difficult moments was palpable which bled into the team. Berube’s coaching style is simple and direct and he is clearly had a positive impact on the keeping the team more composed and focused.

ParticipantNow…..the mission is to steal one in Florida. Do that and you can win this series.
– PrinceLHWith all due respect Prince the Leafs have already shown they can win this series.

ParticipantLeafs best chance is stay physical like game 1 and stay disciplined. Retribution right away is not a good idea unless a game gets out of hand. The Panthers want to lure you into a street fight. Not a good idea. Beat them on the scoreboard. Scores can be settled eventually.
