Just listened to Pelleys presser. Leafs beginning a comprehensive search for a new GM, looking to “retool” around “foundational pieces” rather than rebuild, using a “data-centred analytics approach”

You know what other comprehensive search is about to take place? Me looking for a new fucking hockey team to cheer for.

That Bérubé had to hang his team for there being no immediate response to the Matthews hit is embarrassing. He was clearly disgusted with their response, saying “there should have been four guys on him”. It shows once again how utterly lacking in character this group is. They got shamed into it by Bérubé between periods.

Word out there among insiders is that Tree was shopping Knies on Friday, possibly to Montreal.

Tree is the same guy who said on Friday that they don’t have a plan yet moving forward.

Enough of the indecisiveness.

Pump the goddam brakes and fire Tree NOW.

They need a new president and GM, NOW.

I agree Doz. Going with both a green GM and coach was a massive misjudgment by Shanahan, who was a green president himself. None of them knew how to handle it.

I can almost guarantee MLSE will not allow a tear down followed by a rebuild starting now. They are gonna milk this ca$chow as long as possible as usual.

As usual they will try to Bandaid this thing, and they will fail. Pelley has the option of firing Treliving. But if the next GM is told not to rebuild, they will know this is doomed to fail. Too many holes, too many needs, not enough assets. What credible GM is going to want to take on a plan doomed to fail, only have to admit failure and rebuild in a year or two?

My best guess is Tree will be back. Because this is the Leafs, after all, and they will do the exact opposite of what they should do.

I have zero confidence in MLSE. They have repeatedly made poor management decision after poor management decision. Whatever it is they should do, history has shown that they will do the exact opposite.
