flyers holding down a wildcard spot. go flyers. brick by brick.

What’s wrong with enjoying the moment? Six games in last year, they were 1-4-1, scored 13 goals and gave up 25.

This year, they’re 3-2-1, have scored 18 goals and given up 16. That’s a very encouraging upgrade. They are in a playoff spot right now and actually have a game in hand or two over the teams right behind them. Facts are you friends.

Seattle hasn’t lost in regulation yet. They’re playing with house money right now. They aren’t as desperate as MIN was Saturday. They’ve scored 3 more goals than the Flyers and given up the same number of goals in the same number of games but they are getting better bottom line in game results. Four of their five games have gone to OT. SEA also had the same points total last year at 76. No elite threats stand out for SEA, they’re pretty balanced. Top tier power play, below average penalty kill. Different kind of team that presents different kinds of matchups.

You are losing it. Plus/minus must be taken with a grain of salt, some of those were empty net goals and I agree that the key to the Flyers winning is staying out of the penalty box (I even mentioned the Wild needing to figure out even strength). The Flyers are still looking up at the Wild in the standings, even though it’s by the slimmest of margins, so what exactly are you crowing about? The Flyers having a league worst PP% yet again? Maybe the Flyers should put that on a tshirt if fans are proud of it.

Nothing about Jett? His playing time? The positions the coach puts him in? Should he be in the NHL? What else do the Flyers need to do besides stay out of the penalty box, the state of the Flyrers defense, etc?

First you say Minnesota needs to figure it out 5V5, now you say +/- needs to be taken with a grain of salt. Which is it? Why is Minnesota giving up ENGs? They’re trailing late in games. The state of the Flyers defense? Their 6 through 9 guys are a combined even after 4 games, all against top tier teams. The need for Jett in the lineup was eliminated by Abols’ surprisingly solid camp. The 4th line had their worst game against WPG without a doubt. Jett will get more looks before a decision is required.

Zeev has been an important and productive part of the Wild at 1 PP point/game so far this season. Jett, if he wasn’t DB’s signature pick would be in the OHL instead of sitting on the end of the bench. Min PP% 44%, PHI PP% 7.7%. So far this season Min has been record breakingly good, and PHI record breakingly bad. If MIN ever figures out even strength, look out.

Minnesota’s top four Dmen are a combined -22. Zeev leads the way at -7. They have 5 even strength goals in 5 games. Stay out of the box on them and you win for certain. Can you imagine the response in Philly if the Flyers gave up 7 goals to Columbus at their home opener? How about if they blew a 3 goal lead in the 3rd at home to LA? Fell behind 3-0 to Dallas barely a minute into the 2nd? Got crushed by Washington 5-1? But they have a great power play. Hahahahaha!

I never once mentioned or brought up points. simply stated they have 2 losses. which is a fact. you keep arguing otherwise.

Yeah, why mention points? It’s only how the standings are determined. Take the L, so to speak, you fucking retarded asshole.

    1 OTL

Add the regulation win and you have 3 points. Simple math . . . for most folks.

what part of what the O mean?

What? You can’t even produce a coherent sentence. Sad really. Fetal alcohol syndrome is an awful thing.

    whats an OTL?

One point in the standings. You’ve heard of points right? It’s how they calculate who makes the playoffs. Any more remedial hockey you need me to teach you about?

typical flyers fan. how many losses do they have?

One in regulation. An OTL gets them a point. This has been going on more than 40 years now. Try to keep up you fucking retard.
