I saw some trade proposals recently in this space.
While unlikely to happen (as most are), they were refreshingly less goofy than the proposals I’ve seen on the Hawks board for years.

Do silly trade proposals ramp up on the Habs board in-season or near the deadline?

Note: Capwages and Puckpedia are not very useful for the Blackhawks roster reference in-summer.

Capwages:
currently shows a 25 man roster (not allowed in-season)
currently shows 4 goalies (very unlikely)

Puckpedia:
currently shows a 22 man roster (unlikely for a cap floor team)
currently shows only 12 forwards, incl Dominic Toninato (does not make sense)

My above roster, though not perfect, is a 23 man roster with a more likely player lineup.

UPDATE: The #RedWings have signed defenseman Travis Hamonic to a one-year contract with an AAV of $1,000,000.

The dominoes should all start falling now.

They have what they need for now– a multitude of promising young players with a chance to improve.
Next step is doing a lot better than average with how many improve enough to become good>great NHL players.

Unless/until that happens, not much else matters.

First half of last season he was saddled w/ Tyler Bertuzzi.
I don’t watch every game or even full games but I personally saw Bedard feed him 10 or 12 open looks that got
whiffed, shanked, shot wide, or plunked into the goalies chest.

If he buried 1/2 of those, the kid has 5 or 6 more primaries.

The kid seems to have awakened something in certain hockey fans/writers/announcers.
He is less “hockey-tough-and-gritty” than most other recent #1 OA picks / can’t miss prospects.
Maybe he reminds people of young Laine, PLD, Duchene for example?

Let me just say the backlash against him does not at all surprise me so far.
Time will tell.
