For those interested I think Chelios is doing color with Wiedeman on the radio side. …. If you can pull yourself away from Panger. Dude is so so bad.

Hard to believe that they still have seven 1st round picks not yet playing with the big club, and two more this coming draft. There will not be room for all of them, however not at that bridge yet.

    KK
    Allan
    Boisvert
    Vanacker
    Frondell
    Nestrasil
    West

Whatever we do it can’t be worse than trading Phil Esposito and Ken Hodge and letting Bobby Hull walk because Wirtz backed out of a $250k promise.

Don’t worry, be happy, rpete… The Dark Ages are gone (for now) and the current kids are skating playoff teams outa the joint. … If VAN has any sluggishness from playing Dallas last night then getting on a plane flying 1,000 miles the thoroughbreds just may put the needle on the record and git jiggy wit it for 3 periods again.

Hadn’t realized this, Lou. It’s crazy. Generally, you’re lucky as a fan to have 1 or 2 real prospects coming up making an NHL roster. Hawks have 3-4 blue chippers seemingly coming each yr. The names you posted all have size too except for KK and he ain’t small … Wonder what went thru KD and Crews head as the watched their creation, led by kids, skate STL outa the arena?

The complete tear down, accumulation of loads of 1st and 2nd round picks, drafting BPA (which happened to be from the back end out early), everybody in the organIzation being on board with iron clad patience and refusal to take short cuts as their picks develop is starting to bear fruit…….. And it’s damn fun as a fan right now.

Yo LA, My Guy Casper is DET’s 1C flanked by Kaner and Dcat on L1….. He’ll go get the puck for those two, play 2 ways and add giddy up/nose over the puck for that club.

Bamford has the lineups. Reichel in, 11F 7D lineup that’s unchanged from the STL tilt except Knight is in.

As the Hawks go for 4 in a row tonight it’s setting up nicely. VAV played in Dallas last night and Bamford reports Lankinan will get the start. ….. All eyes on Reichel I’d assume and I wonder if Blashill will stick with what’s won for him, the 11F 7D lineup.

Some real tough lineup decisions ahead when Slaggert returns and especially if Reichel shows any kinda consistency. …….. I think 4 yrs of drafting BPA has finally resulted with real roster competition, and another wave coming, at every position at the NHL level. Add a hungry young talented team bought into a system that seems to be working we see some damn fun and meaningful hockey.

Dots, it jacked my response to you about who’s more dangerous, Bedard or Nazar. Last try……. When I posted that question to you before the FLA game I was asking myself the same question. IMO no doubt in that snapshot in time it was Nazar and I was thinking thru what that meant. Since then as the season has gone on it’s Bedard who is more dangerous. .. Forget what your eyes have seen the last 2 yrs of Bedard playing under 2 questionable NHL coaches in the first 2 yrs outa a total teardown. Bedard is trending towards being a top 5-10 most dangerous player in the NHL. .. The switch has flipped on top of Bedard being a very hungry talented player

Nazar is gonna have some bumps. If we see him as being dangerous so do other coaches. He’s not sneaking up on anyone, he’ll get attention and schemes to slow him down………. My guess is the next time, if ever again, we discuss who’s more dangerous Nazar or Bedard it’ll be 4-5 yrs from now.

Levshunov is tied for the league lead in 5 on 5 goal differential.
Blackhawks have outscored opponents 6-1 in nearly 55 minutes of Lev 5 on 5 play.

I noticed he was doing well there, but I also noticed the Hawks are shooting nearly 30% when he is on the ice.

Lev’s PDO is 128!! Playing fantasy a 100 PDO is what shows a mean. A 128 screams regression. ….. Kid has been sheltered big time and he should be in his draft +2 yr at this level. 71% Ozone starts and the kid has responded with a 58%CF.

Outa all the stats I’ve seen/heard this is the craziest…… Thru 5 games Bedard has 5 SOG!! 5 shots in 5 games??? On 19 shot attempts!! Tad less the 4 attempts per game. ……. He always had a lotta shots blocked but with his added speed getting him past defenders in the D zone, the overall team speed and danger causing defensive breakdowns, and the kid is looking to dish, the eye seems to think he’s firing the thing.

Bedard has the greatest shot I’ve ever seen and I wanna see the kid in the top 5 of SOG every yr and really, so far, he still hasn’t yet seems dangerous every time he’s on the ice. The kid really is just scratching the surface.

    About Connor Bedard

    Connor Bedard

Wonderful to read, especially for those, me, who weren’t near sold that Bedard would reach his ceiling or become close to adequate off the puck. Not that that’s a foregone conclusion but these numbers show a very impactful player. …. The battle wins show it all but you know what, Frenchy, you could see this coming since the Florida game to open the season.

I think it was as far back as after that game I posted I’m not sure who Bedard’s mates are this yr, the kid has the look of a player who will not be denied and won’t be dragged down by mates and these battle win stats are bearing that out. You could see by eye he was more stout, his speed has increased to keep up with his hands and skate by defenders he hasn’t been able to do since turning pro, a knee bend that showed surety and the kid was playing low with leverage.

Once possession numbers improve the kid will start scratching his ceiling.

That’s what you call gettin skated outa the arena. …. When you have bona fide speed demons like Nazar and Mikayhev, who are as fast as anyone on the ice no matter the opponent, guys like Burakovsky and TT who can move, guys like Danato and Greene who also get around and then throw in a Reichel who’s a rocket along with all of the Dmen being mobile, save for Murphy, and you have a squad that can explode from any line on the ice.

But, when the the speed and quick strike comes from inside structure you’ve really got something. The roster construction for that is here but we only have a 5 game sample size. Let’s see how consistently they can play at that level.
