I think he has the right to be angry about the toxic market. It has been front and centre for years now alongs side with shitty management for the last 13-14 years. Can’t just sweep it under the carpet and be a rah rah guy like most Vancouver fans. They deserve to have their asses kicked it is well earned.
He has the right to do as he pleases. Past regimes can be held accountable not the current regime without given some leeway to see how year 1 progresses. Anyways enough bs & onto hockey. Constantly see & read if the Canucks should add more UFA’s for pump & dump. Imo NO. It’s a rebuild & a logjam on F’s. Develop the kids & prospects on the Canucks & in Abby don’t waste time & money blocking them. This is a rebuild with no shortcuts & no expectations. Keeping open roles for the PK for new blood & competition for all positions is the way to go. Priority is MM’s system letting mistakes slide while the team defines their new identity. Allow playing through mistakes & let players develop without feeling TOI is cut due to imperfection. It isn’t the time to judge it is time to let the process to begin. The journey will be painful but to be expected so let it unfold & the players learn.

Canadian teams are going to be having a huge disadvantage with the salary cap and the 40% differential in the dollar. Add to that the cost of living. I don’t see a Canadian team having huge success for many year. Elite players wanting to head to the tax free states like Fla Texas.
Buium will probably want to move on in five years.

The political shit-show Canada and the Canadian dollar is right now with all the far-left liberal and socialist people and policies, aside, Buium is an extremely talented kid, and he’s only 20 years old. They’ve got something special with this kid. Is he in the elite Quinn Hughes level of player, no, but he had 14 points in 31 games in Minnesota (a good team) as a 19 year old defenseman, that’s not something to scoff at. Yeah, he’s got holes in his game but his skill level and ceiling are extremely high. As a 17 year old in NCAA Div I for Denver, who won the National Championship, he was third in league scoring as a defenseman, again, that’s not something the Canucks have had in their system ever, I don’t think.
The political shit-show aside in the USA & their imploding economy with their fascist wealth transfer grifting aside Buium is his own person. He’s won everything everywhere he has played. The Canucks need a couple big good skating bruisers drafted on D. Dupont would be ok I guess 🤪.
