No reason to force a bad deal. No rush & no pressure during the rebuild. Cross that bridge when it happens.
My guess is 2 pieces for Petey a prospect & high pick no retention. 3 pieces if retention. I wouldn’t go more than 1.6m.
Sounds good to me unless BPA top winger falls to us. Also expect more draft capital is coming before the draft. DeBrusk maybe a later 1st is still possible hopefully. EP is a strange predicament with so many variables & how he starts the season. My guy says he’ll bounce back to a 60-70pt player more if highly motivated but that is not a good bet given the 2 seasons. Boeser at best a TDL chip if a suitor steps up for scoring. Not holding my breath on that lol
Verbeek playing hardball sure created a mess with Carlsson. Gauthier next up & not enough cap without a trade. Poor GM job for a good team on the rise.
If they don’t match… they will have 4 extra 1sts to trade for forward help. 2x 1sts for Petey and DeBrusk? That still would be less salary than Leo.
DeBrusk mentioned he wants to stay out west and I heard something about Petey’s wife and California connections. Could be a trade desirable for both teams and the players…

The D is still in the infant stage but is forming up nicely. It can use more top end talent to supply the system more depth. So far so good with RJ’d 1st draft. Need to see 2-3 prospects emerge & continue with more drafts.
Tasks at hand for Manny is figure out an identity & work on the woeful PK. I don’t see much help for the PK with the current group to work with. Play disciplined hockey is a good start. North South fast hockey & puck hounding system.
I blew up HB about EP & people joked how much I posted & some even pissed off in disagreement. I ragged on incessantly about him from nearly the start of the 2023/2024 season starting in November.
You are correct, it was before he signed that contract, that his play had dropped off signicantly.
I believe Lefty and Nighty were 2 of those who supported that contract.

The culture of this team moving forward is huge as we all know. Hopefully he’s moved sooner than later.
Culture changed when the old regime ended. A few trades as well has helped it along.
