If Drury goes and trades a 1st round pick for Kiefer Sherwood (after he could have been got for free 2 years ago, which I was praying they would but these dumbasses didnt), I will be livid.

I’m not disagreeing with you that we should not trade a first round pick (or anything) for kiefer Sherwood. But i am gonna go ahead and suggest that there’s no way you knew he’d be more than a fringe roster player.

Panarin was part of the problem this team never got over the hump in the ECF. He just couldnt do it. Why resign him if the team is floundering??

Because the UFA class has all been resigned and we missed out on all the big exciting fish. If anything they should trade him and resign him in the offseason but that wont happen

Y’all giving up already is typical 🤦 this isn’t an attempt to ruin y’all’s pity party either, carry on, but…

If they can finally make a statement at home and win a bunch there, it’ll be big because they have 8 more home games to road games the rest of the way.

What they need is get and stay healthy. They really haven’t had a full and healthy lineup at all this season. Trocheck was hurt, then Fox and now Miller.

As far as Drury goes, going into this season priority number 1 was to get better defensively and they’ve clearly done that. Manly because of Sullivan and Gavrikov. That’s two positive checks for GMCD. The scoring has taken a hit but seems to be getting a little better as the year is going along and is it his fault these guys can finish? Obviously yes (sarcasm dripping)

If we’re looking ahead to next season I would trade pretty much anything for Jason Robertson, and re-sign Panarin. Stars could be a in a pickle there being to afford him. It will cost one of Perrault laf or Cuylle, Schneider or Morrow and a first but Robertson is a game breaker/wrecker they lack so you have to do that imo. They’re in pretty good shape with the d corp where they should put all the efforts into improving the goal scoring

My two cents. I’ll go crawl back under my positive thinking rock now 🤣

Maybe the pendulum swings back in the other direction and they make a run at a playoff spot. That’s a maybe. But I think you’re being dishonest if you believe this team has the talent and heart to keep up with the top teams in the league. So we scrap our way into the playoffs and get knocked out. Then what? There’s no big UFAs left. The best thing for this franchise is to get as many draft picks and young players as possible because the cupboard is BARE. After perreault there is no forward prospect that sniffs a top 6 role and no defenseman that’s a difference maker. Theres a lot of good role players in the farm, but that’s it.

The best case scenario for the future of this team is to be embarrassed tonight. Make it impossible to ignore the lack of difference makers and heart, the dysfunction, etc

What’s going on? I can speak to Bill and Mike and see what I can try and do

It’s still just as slow and hard to keep track of as it ever was. I have all of the same issues. Half the time I think about coming here I say forget it and do something else and it makes me sad, because I like talking hockey with these fools

The wild still want a top 6 forward and they are willing to move Hartman to do so according to the internet. The match is so clear here for both sides that Drury should be blacklisted from the NHL if he doesn’t try to do something like

    Panarin ($2m-$3m retained)

    For

    Hartman (2x$4m remaining)
    Charlie Stramel
2027 1st round pick (drop it lower and/or make it conditional if they won’t do it)

If you want to get buck wild (pun intended) Minnesota desperately needs a top 6 center so you could throw Trocheck in there for another prospect

Im all for the first part of the trade, but if Im the Rangers I retain half on Panarin to try to maximize the return.

For the second part. Id rather try to trade Zibanejad. I think the situation on the Wild might be one where he might waive his NMC. Mika, 1.5m retained, for a 2028 first round pick.

Trocheck is far more tradable from our perspective and will get a huge return . Mika is not waiving. Trocheck has only a partial ntc.

When both Adam Fox and JT Miller return, if there is no improvement in the team’s performance, I could see Dolan making a move. But remember. they fired JD and Gorton partially so they could promote Drury. In addition, they kept him away from going to Pittsburgh, so management will give him a long leash before cutting him loose.

Drury does not seem like a very good person, not that it should necessarily matter for a hockey gm, but it kind of does when you think about how he’s gone about running the team since he snaked his way into the role. Pretty toxic work place as it turned out last season. I always thought he was just a very mild mannered and soft spoken guy but that’s kinda the stuff you hear in those true crime docs about the unassuming high school teacher who cared deeply for his students but ended up having 10 bodies buried in his yard. But instead of bodies this is just being a complete a hole

One day we’re going to look back at this sheary first line thing and it’s going to be just as dumb and infuriating if not more. Need scoring? Play Perreault 11 minutes on the 3rd line, Othmann 6 minutes on the 4th, and sheary on the first line, pp2, and pk

There’s just simply no way a rebuild is coming with Dolan and Drury. The d-bags if you will indulge me

Drury and anyone involved in player development followed by all tradable players need to go. Drury can’t survive another rebuild. He cheated on the first one and now we’re in a terrible spot. I’ll say this in his defense, Laf and kakko not working out probably is the nail in the coffin for this version of the team. I think every other GM would’ve taken those two players if they were in our spot so you can’t blame him for that. Development failed them and they’ve failed themselves. Everything else he’s done (or not done, I.e. getting a difference maker) is trash though

All of this is probably moot because the word is (and history would agree) that Dolan is not interested in a rebuild in earnest

    Quotes don’t work for me

“Along with Gabe, I wouldnt want to trade Cuylle (although he would probably get us a pretty decent haul)… and maybe Schneider. Might keep Morrow for PP purposes.”

Cuylle is tradable. He’s been bad but still has good value. I’d be ok with him staying because of age and contract.

Schneider is a 2nd pairing d at best and if any team thinks he’s more than that we need to pull the trigger asap

Mika misses team meeting and gets scratched.

Sullivan acknowledged that “there are logistical challenges the city presents” that caused Zibanejad’s lateness, but added, “Mika understands the importance of the rules that we all expect of one another.”

“He feels terribly. The one thing about Mika is he’s an honest person. He’s a great human being and he takes responsibility for it.”

What does this even mean? Something out of his control prevented him from making the meeting and he’s punished for it? Talk about cutting off your nose to spite your face
