8.5M isn’t top pair money or it won’t be this season.

Wait and see what Kucherov gets on his new deal, or Makar after this season, same for Quinn Hughes.

IF (and yes it’s an IF for sure) Raddysh’s play continues the way he played this past year for the first 4 or 5 years of this deal the Leafs made out like bandits are people will say how good the value for money is (much like many do with Makar’s deal now). If Raddysh takes a step back it’s a new whipping boy for the media and fanbase once Reilly is moved.

It could always be worse, look at what Pittsburgh is paying for Karleson or Edmonton is paying Nurse! lol

at the moment 8.5 is top pair $$, puts him around 25th highest paid D. 8.2% of cap
but yeah thats about to shift big time.

im a bit surprised at the initial reactions from the statsy world on Raddysh. I expected the point and laugh as usual. but its mostly just…yeah this is fine.

    Yuck

We haven’t even gotten out of the Rielly contract yet

    8 x 8m for a 30 yr old?
    Buying high >

Rielly signed for 9.1% of the cap at the time of his deal, raddish just signed for 8.5 which is 8.1%.
    so lower cap %

    Updated RHD:

    Raddysh
    Carlo
    Tanev
    Andrae
    Danford
    Villeneuve
    Myers
    (OEL can also play there)

    Something has to give

I could see Carlo moved, hes pretty pylon-ish. big and not mobile puck mover.

Raddysh finished the regular season with 96 shots over 90 miles per hour – 45 more than anyone else.

So i just did an emergency homework on raddish

    some good
    right shot
Has a booming shot from the point, scored the 3 hardest shot goals last season 97-100mph
underlying stats are good/very good, so not totally a fluke

    some bad
partner with jj moser who a lot are saying is a big reason for his explosion
the pair had a lot of puck luck, will be regression
its very high risk high reward
very similar to Brandon Montour in Fla, then Kraken

imo he is likely to land as a 3ish D, maybe a tweener from top pair to middle. 8+ish x 8 is a big gamble.

Non-generational rookies don’t move the needle that far.

talking about a power play, a skilled playmaker can move the needle a lot on a PP. what the F are we even talking about here

to be clear, the only way I would be interested in any of the Canucks players is if Rielly is going the other way.
but if they are doing scorched earth, they dont want Rielly

    Leafs have draft picks 1, 60, 69, 85, 114, 133, 158, 169
having 69 and 169 is important

Oh, right, because Vegas’ PP was so fucking hot in the Finals. GTFOH with that bullshit.

Leafs might be able to get a very skilled playmaking winger somewhere. one might drop into their lap even next Friday

Chayka laid it out, so no mystery

So yeah, if the GM and Coach are not aligned with the players he brings in, then its not going to work.

John Chayka on the hiring of Jim Hiller as Leafs head coach: “It starts with alignment… We want no space between the coaches and the front office… We think Jim gives us the best chance to do that.”

will it work, probably not..because Leafs.

Could be a fun summer, canucks look open for Business

    Lebrun on Canucks:
Pettersson, Boeser and DeBrusk are available. They want to tear it all down…On Pettersson…I think Canucks are willing to retain.

Vegas just hired a coach who has never been a head coach in the NHL and never won anything as a head coach anywhere.

    giant fucking shrug.

If Matthews plays 70+ games, he will score 50 again. no worries
