Terribly stupid challenge, now they go on the PK, allowing the Devils a chance to make it 2-1 really, really fast.
Marner had more career playoff points than Tavares, Matthews and Nylander. Marner would play against Floridaâs #1 line and keep them in check. He kills penalties. He ran the PP (which has not turned to shit). He contributed to 3 GWGs vs Florida. He was perfectly fine being one of the main, core guys with big responsibility. The problem was the garbage that filled the rest of the roster. The Leafs refused to get rid of the garbage like Tavares, Rielly, Jarnkrok, Kampf etc. and refused to pay and retain an elite, two-way player then elected to replace him with 3rd and 4th liners. It wonât end well for the Leafs as this team is worse and wonât be getting better.
Heâs probably gonna win a cup, and win the Conn Smythe, in Vegas his first year and rub Leafs fans and managementâs noses in it so bad! đ
I think he will win a Cup in Vegas, maybe not immediately just because it does take teams time to come together but he wouldn’t be the first or the last. Most Leafs fans are still in denial about the Kadri disaster. That was probably the beginning of the end for this era. They had a high value player for a low cost and were too stupid to realize it. He was exactly what they needed more of in the playoffs and just did what the Leafs always do; cave to the dumbest in the fan base and the media and threw him away for garbage in return.

No argument out me regarding Marc Savard.It was dog shit because of Savard and because they had to run 5 forwards on the PP because Rielly was and still is trash on the PP, not because of Marner.
Marner had 228 powerplay points (23 playoff PP points, #1 among all Leafs during that time) in all his years in Toronto, #1, more than Nylander and Matthews, so no, if the PP was shit it wasn’t because the #1 PP producer was shit.
The PP started the same way last year, then, they picked it up.

The PP is dog shit because Marc Savard is an idiot who has no idea how to run a PP. They also lost Marner and replaced him with dog shit. The PP will continue to be shit especially in the playoffs.
Marner will be a good/important player on a team where all the focus isnât on a group of four players to sink or die with. Vegas epitomizes a deep, balanced, big, heavy, experienced, team where everyone is a contributor and their systems play is more important than being carried by a small group of players. Just my outside opinion looking in.

Nylander played so shit to start the season Berube called him out but you’re going to pretend that never happened. Nylander’s points don’t matter, he sucks balls defensively and has cost the team points. That’ll only get worse in the playoffs. Marner was happy to stay in Toronto, it was the idiot fans and moron management that ran him out of town. You’ll learn the hard way, like you did with Kadri, what happens when this story ends.
