Participantdraft lottery
The last Russian VAN had who wasn’t a flake was Larinov. I’ll certainly temper my expectations on winning the draft lottery. I’m guessing the Canucks pick 3rd again after finishing last OA.

ParticipantRussia is banned from all international sports nothing to do with IIHF only. Blame Ukraine for being invaded by a war criminal. Take it up with Ovi the Putin boot licker.
Avoid Russians when there are the Virtanens & Gaunces the old regimes no longer in Vancouver draft. Who needs hot garbage like a Demidov or Kaprizov.
Why only Russia? So you don’t see the hypocrisy of ignoring everything USA has done in recent decades. Presently they are the aggressor against Iran. Over a million dead in Iraq since their act of aggression there. It goes on and on. If Russia is out over Ukraine, USA should be out over it’s middle east wars. Same goes for Israel who is in a active genocide at the moment and invading more of it’s neighbors and stealing land. Russia out of the Olympics and World Cup but Israel, the biggest murdering war criminal on the planet is still allowed to participate. This is what I mean by politicized.
Don’t forget Canada, wait until things escalate!

You can never have enough Vitali Kravtsov’s!

ParticipantStrongest draft for the Russians the last decade I’m hearing. Smart move…
Too bad the IIHF is so unfairly politicized or scouts and fans could see these draft eligibles in international matches.
Probably an unpopular comment. I’d pass on any Russian, based on our history and luck. We’re already trying to get rid of a talented flake. Trade up/down whatever, hard no.

Reporting with @DhaliwalSports:
We’ve learned that the #Canucks have hired Sean Finn – a B.C. native who has spent the past decade working in development roles in the KHL – as an amateur scout.
Interesting hire. 2027 draft class is loaded with
-born talent.
Huge!

ParticipantThe struggle to have posts go through continues. A real pain in the ass lol
Anyways enough bs & onto hockey. Constantly see & read if the Canucks should add more UFA’s for pump & dump. Imo NO. It’s a rebuild & a logjam on F’s. Develop the kids & prospects on the Canucks & in Abby don’t waste time & money blocking them. This is a rebuild with no shortcuts & no expectations. Keeping open roles for the PK for new blood & competition for all positions is the way to go. Priority is MM’s system letting mistakes slide while the team defines their new identity. Allow playing through mistakes & let players develop without feeling TOI is cut due to imperfection. It isn’t the time to judge it is time to let the process to begin. The journey will be painful but to be expected so let it unfold & the players learn.
Preach!

ParticipantHe has been less than impressive so far but keep at it. He has a hell of a shot and when he figures it out
I think he’ll be an Oiler then.

ParticipantJust imagine having two of that type of player. I think Canucks give up too early on a lot of young first round picks. Horvat Podz Lekker. I have always been a Podz fan and I think he will just keep getting better and better. I see him becoming a Nichuskin 2.0 when all is said and done
Lekkerimäki is close to entering Olli Juolevi territory. He needs a breakout season.

ParticipantSeeing the bigger picture, I hope they play the shit out of him and he finds tremendous success, which would make other teams very interested in acquiring him, possibly giving up a first round pick and no salary retention, a guy can dream.
His history would suggest otherwise. Do you think he will fit in with this team? That’s the big question, they want to establish a good culture here. Hopefully you’re right and they miraculously manage to move him off the team. He’s in a good spot to float the rest of his deal out here like Loui Eriksson did regretfully.

ParticipantRead online yesterday they’ve (management) tried to overturn the roster much more than they already have but they haven’t had a lot of success/takers thus far. More to come…
You’d think they would. Debrusk 100%, Boeser probably in there, DOC, and of course the flake.
