The Leafs at the moment, sit at $1,846,898 over the cap.
With the new changes to trainning camp this year, there are no player physicals errr something like that.
I guest the Leafs are waiting till the 29th to put Domi on LTIR so they can get under the cap unless there is a trade.
It doesn’t leave not much or any room for potential waiver pick upsjust a couple weeks till we see the Leafs back in action in a split squad games.
having four games in two split quads games is not a good way to evalute who makes the team. IMO.

The Atlantic will be ridiculous this year. Just getting in will be a grand accomplishment. Leafs do have an eclectic group of players. An older defense, an older goaltending tandem, and a great mix of forwards, with a younger core coming along. If Matthews comes back to being one of the top 3 goal scorers and Willy hits 40 goals and 80 points, the Leafs will excel. If McKenna turns into the player they predict, it’ll be a fun watch.
This is the future: Artur Akhtyamov. One injury and he comes up and maybe never goes down again. Rielly could be better this year, knowing that he’s on the bubble. I hope that he stayed in shape because the alternative is gone!
If Rielly is better, my money for the reason is on the coaching style, and the same goes for Matthews. Berube the longer he was around the team got worse and worse as he really got to put his stamp on the team. good riddance
The Goalies concern me, Bob was awful last season and Stolarz always misses time.
If they are trash its a lost season.
I dont think Rielly is untradable, I just wouldn’t give him away. if hes in a lesser role, not expected to the the #1 top dog, maybe he can be sheltered more.Exactly this. The Leafs were not going to add a “sweetner” to move him.
