Shane Wright is still in his entry level contract and he’s a right shot C. 6 foot/190 lbs and can skate like the wind. I can see why management is interested. He has plenty of potential still… probably not going to be the player he was projected to be going into the draft but that’s ok. SW says he wants to come here. Makes sense. He knows this team is developing it’s young talent and that’s exactly what he needs. He’ll get ice time and patience here. As long as the price is reasonable, it’s a no brainer. So what is reasonable?
Seattle wants Willander. Not going to happen I hope. Right shot D is more needed then C as of this last draft unless we are talking legit #1 projection.. that ship has sailed for SW. He’s looking like a middle 6 player. I expect the asking price to come down eventually. Just for shits and giggles, lets see what ideas we can come up with. I’m limiting my trade idea to what I’m willing to give up. I don’t care if it’s underwhelming. I walk before messing with the rebuild.
The obvious player to dangle is Lekkerimaki. Same draft but 11 picks apart. Both players are struggling to live up to expectations. I think something would have to be added to get their attention. Perhaps a 3rd rounder. Maybe Kudryavtsev instead.
I have other ideas but lets hear yours first…
