JR/PA totally misread the Canadian market. They were doomed for failure.
They couldnt even get a read on the team let alone the market. They misread and destroyed the team’s leadership… handed it over to the spoiled American clique… led by a mental case bully. All the locker room shit started after Horvat was chased out of town for poor leadership of all things. Players like Schenn and Cole kept head case self serving Miller under check and stood up for the younger guys. Once all those guys were gone it was only a matter of time. A lot of fans were cheering it on because they dreamed of a tougher team. Its not as easy as that. You need your tougher core to be true leaders and all on the same page… not asshole bullies who go out of their way to split the room.
That’s a real good take. Cliques like real life either work out or fail. Usually head to failure eventually. The only clique that has sustained success is from the top with the Canes & Habs as an example. On the ice it’s the jersey & team identity. Neither Hughes or Miller really exemplified that. EP40 hasn’t either but still can if the Sedins can straighten his head out. Boeser has shown to be team 1st through all he has gone through. Demko has been all Canuck since drafted our Carey Price. Buium is looking like a gem in many ways. When he puts it all together the good times are back. Add to that all the young kids & prospects if they bring team 1st & bust ass attitude every night.
Everything starts at the top & goes downhill. Sedins for stability & vision. RJ for design & identity. Manny developing & directing. The players playing for each other bringing it all to life. New chapter in Canucks history is coming sooner than later. Where it goes who knows. Is it exciting to not know? Yes & No. Reason for optimism hell yeah.

The pressure is at an all time low with this team now. Hopefully they do it right this time without EP40 in the room. Accumulate picks again and hope for a home run. Maybe in a couple of years we may see something.

Canucks have a bunch of 2/3 Cs including the Swedish Disappointment guy. They still need a 1C they should bring drafting top five for two more years.Likker doesn’t seem like an NHL guy to em. Just my take I may be wrong.JR and Allvin were stupid, Worst management ever so I am not sure they knew what the hell they were doing when drafting trading or signing contracts.
I was happy to see Benning go,but soon to be disappointed again, when Rutherford was named.

You and I got our share of grief for questioning some of their early moves. “This is so refreshing” the group thinkers were saying about every dumb move. Meanwhile I’m asking “how does this make any sense?”.
Some of their early moves were pretty good. They just had no follow up when things started going off the rails.
