ParticipantMark Ciaccio, hes been with the organization since 2013-14 season as a Skills/Skating coach. In 2023 he got promoted to Prospect Development Skills Coach. All these guys who have been apart of the organization for atleast 6 years, responsible for the development of the team, need to be fired.

ParticipantJed Ortmeyer, Director of Player Development since 2017.
Tanner Glass, Assistant Director of Player Development since 2019.These 2 need to be fired IMMEDIATELY. We cannot continue to move forward with these two still here.

ParticipantTo respond to previous posts…
Except, Frederic hardly plays center. Hes taken a total of 94 faceoffs all year, by comparison… Laba has taken 358 faceoffs, thats already more faceoffs than Frederic has taken in any single season of his career. But I get it, this is one player you’ve been begging for for years.

ParticipantI really am annoyed this site… have I said this before?

ParticipantApparently Drury is still all over acquiring 30 year old Kierfer Sherwood to add to the top 9 smh. Let’s give up more assets for another 30+ year old. Wtf is Drury doing.
Because were clearly a Kiefer Sherwood away from being a cup contender.
I like the player, hes that feisty type, but this would be an absolute buffoon level move.
Hes also on an expiring contract, what exactly has this team done this season to inspire someone to want to resign here? Especially considering Drury’s history.

ParticipantWhile unlikely, what would a Fox to the flyers trade look like?
Probably a lot more than the Flyers would be willing to give up. You’re also asking Fox, a kid born on Long Island wearing a Rangers jersey, to go play for his life-long rival. This would almost be the equivalent of seeing Mantle or Jeter in a Red Sox jersey.

ParticipantDET seems like a logical landing spot for Panarin at the deadline. Loaded with prospects and picks and has a ton of cap space ($62 million by the deadline).
ANA is another team with a ton of picks and prospects, although I’m not sure they’re quite ready to start burning 1st rounders on pure rentals. Maybe a guy like Trocheck would interest them who still has some term left after this year.
Trocheck’s cap hit will definitely have some teams salivating.
Panarin for Duck’s wouldnt make a ton of sense. They dont look like a team thats a Panarin away from being a cup contender. Also, their problem isnt putting pucks in the net, their biggest issue is keeping them out of the net. I think the Kings could be a team that is a good fit for Panarin. They’re on that playoff bubble and could really use some help scoring. Id love to get Greentree from them.
I wish there was a universe in which we could trade LAF for Robo.
…and Ill stick to my guns hoping that Ziba would accept a trade to the Wild. #pipedream

ParticipantInstead of “Chris Drury, the time has come to pull the plug” it should read, “The time was come to pull the plug on Chris Drury”.
Sullivan is a plug also. Said it from day 1 before they even signed him. He’s been a loser for 8 years in a row now.
This team could only hope Drury gets fired, this is a complete mess. If Dolan watched this game he has to be saying to himslf how can I trust Drury?? Sullys hiring hasnt turned things around (Who would have thought 4 coaches in 6 years) It is the players it falls on, it is time to clean the house. At least Mika picked it up, he should fetch a first rounder, Rangers should eat a lot of these contracts to get the best possible return. Im not up to date about the new rules about retaining salary, if any of the 3 posters on here know please explain them.
As far as the rules of retention and all that stuff, it hasnt changed. This is the last and final year that you can do the double retention with a second team. The new rules kick in next year.
Ill skip Quinn, but hence forth 3 coaches in 5 years. We want to blame the players, and on some level they as professionals need to do better. However, how in the world does a team develop chemistry and cohesiveness when every 2 years theres a new coach, a new system and theyre being blamed for their culture in the locker room? They appoint a captain, then a year and a half later start ripping him to shreds, becomes media headlines in trade talks and gets crapped on by fans.

ParticipantI love how Sullivan missed the playoffs 3 straight years in PITT, he leaves and they’re right back in a playoff spot. Meanwhile I don’t think I’ve watched a worse Rangers team in the last 15 years. Disgusting
Gallant wasnt so bad after all.

ParticipantWhat can you even say about this team now? Like wow!!!
Its ok man, its all part of the plan, just have to give it time to work itself out. You need patience when you’re trying to change the culture and ethics of a team.

ParticipantThe best course of action is to sell and get (4) 1st round picks going into this draft.
If we sell we’d likely end up in the bottom 5 of the league, maybe pair 2 of the picks to move into the teens. Top 5, top 20 and a pick in the 20’s to go along with multiple 2nds should be the mindset going into the deadline.
What worries me is when we get “prospects” back that Drury has supposedly been “watching/liked for a long time” like Parsennin, Brisson, Blais etc. His judge of talent is suspect at best.
There were ways to salvage this team at the end of last year but Drury has completely killed the culture. It’s time for a full tear down and rebuild but my faith that he will do what’s best for the future of this organization is next to none.
I have the same worries. Drury sucks at scouting existing young talent and the organization is deplorable at developing players.
The right thing to do is to sell and get as many picks as we can, but history (over the last near decade) is not on their side when it comes to drafting and developing.

ParticipantCan’t comment on the new article because it’s not a forum or whatever that issue is
I think it will eventually show up on the forum.

ParticipantIf Drury goes and trades a 1st round pick for Kiefer Sherwood (after he could have been got for free 2 years ago, which I was praying they would but these dumbasses didnt), I will be livid.
I’m not disagreeing with you that we should not trade a first round pick (or anything) for kiefer Sherwood. But i am gonna go ahead and suggest that there’s no way you knew he’d be more than a fringe roster player.
A fringe player? No, did I think he would be a solid bottom 6, 3rd line addition? Absolutely! His last year with NSH was 10g 27pts, 234 hits playing only 12 minutes a game. Those are exactly the kids of guys we needed on this team at the time. Gritty guys who provide secondary scoring.
