ParticipantLovin 73s playing with purpose tonight, more please
BetweenTheDots
ParticipantSee everyone thought we would have to many defenseman, no one knew Blashill would play 7 of them, hahaha
BetweenTheDots
ParticipantI love love love 73 skating with purpose and not being a floater.
I’m in shock, i don’t know if they can put them away but gotta admit the 2nd period was fantastic
Blues are getting frustrated and that was one wishes

Participant48 has got to get that in deep

ParticipantCommon guys recognize the dman activating

ParticipantYea it is nice to see, another player who fits the KD mold is Burakovsky i never realized he actually plays defense, i liked how Blashill rewarded those hard working guys on the PP and it paid off.
I don’t know if they’ll be able to bring this for 78 more games but if they do it’ll be a fun season to watch.

ParticipantThat’s the problem with analytics, everyone would be raving if the Blackhawks held an opponent to 23 SOG, but it means less because we had less.
I think games like this have so much value because it makes the young players work on being better defensively. And they were excellent
Last year we couldn’t score an empty net goal, already have one after 4 games.
This was a great defensive win and I’m a big believer that great defense leads to good offense.
Thanks for the good read Frenchy.

ParticipantAnd if Mikhelev keeps playing the way he does, I wouldn’t be able to trade him, i was so impressed with his effort and defensive play vs the Habs.

ParticipantI’ve got to admit Kaiser really has impressed me so far this season. I think he’s getting better with each game, which is fantastic, it’s really looking like Vlasic, Rinzel and now Kaiser, are top 4 defenseman
With the forwards playing defense back checking and taking scoring passing lanes away in the dzone, my guess is we’ll be drafting higher than at least 5th OA when all said and done.

ParticipantI disagree with the popular opinion, i believe the harder working team won tonight.

ParticipantMan what a win tonight. The time and space the team is taking away is fantastic, keeping Utah to half the ice was frustrating them, it became the iso show in the 2nd and 3rd period for them.
BetweenTheDots
ParticipantAt least cut the penalties you get called for in half, hahaha
Shouldn’t be hard to do.
Even though they had all those penalties called on them they competed hard the entire game. I thought they would become passive.
Like to see a lot these hockey players leave their ego in the locker room like Murphys retalatory hit, bank what happened and during the game pick a spot where you make that player pay.

ParticipantLoved what i saw of the Ice Hogs tonight

ParticipantThe Blackhawks lose a lot of face offs because the opponent cheats, i specifically watch the opponents feet and they are moving before the puck is dropped with no call, now if our young guys cheat they get thrown out of the dot, when the refs wouldn’t throw out the center for cheating but delay the drop and correct habs players feet the Blackhawks almost always won the draw.
Besides I’m okay with the kids losing the draw it will force them to get better defensively.
