Just think if the salary cap went up like it is now in 2009?
That’s what’s kind of cool with this rebuild and the salary cap, they will be able to keep a lot of their players, Nazar and Vlasic contracts help that already.
Thanks Chunk, i think another key point is from what i hear is Blashill had a convo with Reichel and informed him of how he needs to play if he wants to get into the lineup. Is Reichel willing to accept that his form of floating around hockey is not going to help any team win?
Don’t know if it will help but i do like this approach of sitting Reichel. We tried to trade you but no one wanted you and we aren’t going to waive you so if you want to play….
I think Knight was great last night
I saw that stat line and i find it incredible that the possession metrics favored the opposing line when Bedard was on the ice, yet Bedard had 3 excellent chances of scoring.
If the 2nd line continues to be a threat to keep scoring this is excellent news for Bedard and whoever is paired with him.
I was really expecting to see much more space on the ice for Florida but that wasn’t the case which for me is very optimistic.
I love how Florida doesn’t care who you are they are going to take time and space away from you and always seem to have two guys attacking the puck carrier

With the Greene emergency call up, we know who is first up. I’ve not seen anything on Slaggert or heard anything the entire preseason. Did he make the team?
Not exactly. Slaggs is a defensive forward in the bottom 6 and that’s what Greene will be so they called him up over Moore but just my opinion. Wondering if it means Foligno moves up to 3rd line wing and Greene centers line 4?
My belief is they want Moore to skate on a line with another fast skater so he and Lardis can learn to play at a faster pace.
When you are accumulating talent and nurturing it, the Reichel/Kurashev players start getting passed over which is what’s beginning to happen. internal competition begins to breed competitiveness which grows through the org.
Oh and on a good note i read that Boisverts dad said he’s going to Boston U for this year and then signing with the Blackhawks…

Yea Wiz who knows what’s going to become of Reichel, i was really disappointed again with his lack of compete in the preseason.
It’s time for him to accept he’s not a top 6 player and reinvent his style of play to be a productive hockey player. He’s not good enough to play without the puck like Patrick Kane did.
