How is this for a crazy idea? Instead of signing Toews to a one day contract, sign him to a one game contract. He can skate with Kane and then at the end of the game, retire his sweater. Tell me the UC wouldn’t go nuts!

I listened to an interview that KFC did in Toronto about where he stands on Kane. He said that Kane is always welcome back; the door is open if that is what Kane decides. The inflection in his voice tells another story. It’s like, sure, we’ll take him back, but I don’t really want to. He couldn’t wait to get rid of Kane, and no matter what he says now, he doesn’t want him back. I don’t think he will come back; Buffalo is a playoff team. I would rather see another young guy get an opportunity. I hope they get rid of Mangiapani.
KFC made his trade and then signed two free agents. I think he’s done. Time to see how well he drafted. Let the rookies play. It’s great to have a good farm system, but we need to see what we have.
Cole Smith now means that one of the up-and-comers will not have a place on the team. And we still have the Magpie on the roster. What is TT’s place on the team? Then you have the other guy (names still escape me sometimes) who had a career year, got a big contract, and then produced only half as much as the year before. Load the team with young guys. Let’s see them grow together. It would be fun to watch. Are they going to make mistakes? Sure, but they will learn. I want to see Savoi this year.
