I don’t think we need to figure out anything more on Spencer Knight except for him finally to get a real dose of NHL games under his belts.

The hop is that he starts to deliver as a better puck saver and that the kids feed off that in games.

Can he help keep the team in games, enabling the young core to play strong infront of his and WIN more?

I think big Sam may be on track towards a rookie of the year nomination.

Will Arty start to see where to position himself in his end? Will he restain himself to seeing the simple over the jump up urges his quick feet have to save the day?

Will enough youngsters take steps that elevate themselve in NHL pro status and stick?

I don’t think any of the starved for success fanbase will be opposed to seeing any and all of Rockford rotating in and out.
We don’t want regualt roles handed out before the second wave of prospects arrives, and then the third, and then the fourth in this years 2026 deep class, where essntially the Balckhawks can start selecting developmental players who will be on track to fill and replace the draft picks that have failed to show NHL muster.

Welcome Wiz. If you are not aware there is a forum for general discussion. Here’s a link. Stop by and add your expertise. A lot of the old regulars are there.

    re: Laurent Brossoit

Other than idle speculation about trading him, has anyone read *any actual info*
about his health status going into training camp?

This info has been locked down forever, it seems.

Does Brossoit have red hair? Is he someone’s step-child? The Hawks have had him hidden in the basement since he got injured. Talk about keeping a tight lid on things.

Best case scenario is he starts the season healthy, gets a few games in and does decently (Hawks would have to keep all three goalies on the roster), and someone else’s goalie or backup wets the bed or gets injured making him trade fodder. Chances of all three happening are slim and none.

Ok dreamers, time to start the countdown to July 1st:

    Frank Seravalli @frank_seravalli 3h
Sources say #mnwild superstar Kirill Kaprizov’s camp turned down an extension offer believed to be 8-years, $128 million
in a meeting on Tuesday in Minnesota that would have made him the highest-paid player in #NHL history in both AAV ($16 million) and total dollars.

I wouldn’t get my hopes up that he’ll wind up in Chicago.

    1) The Wild won’t let him walk for nothing. Chicago or whomever will have to pay an arm and both legs in any trade deal. Probably have to include 2 or 3 of our upcoming studs plus some draft picks.
    2) Maybe he just wants a shorter term contract, maybe 3 x 16M, so he can sign for 3 x 19M, then 3 x 22M down the road. Of course Guerin would like the cost certainty of 8 x 16M. It seems an awful lot now, but won’t be in 4-5 years.

    Here’s a Minnesota writer’s viewpoint.

Seems to be happening to me. Perhaps there’s a lag?

See Metalhead post on page 7.

No lag on this forum, but a lag when posting on Frenchy’s articles.

I don’t think I ever posted this here. Maybe I did on the other site. I came across this e-book that details X’s and O’s used by teams throughout the league. Cost is $32, but may be worth it to those of you who are really into the tactics or coach youngsters. There’s an illustrative example in the link.

    Happy Hump Day, everyone!

My new article will be released later this morning: “Where Does Spencer Knight Fit in the Goalie Market?”

I’d really appreciate some feedback. It’s a longer piece with several tables and a lot of detail — I wanted to dig deeper into how we evaluate goaltender contracts. Since I’m still fairly new to HHS and covering the Blackhawks, I’d love to hear what readers are looking for: do you prefer this kind of deeper dive, or something a little lighter?

As the season gets closer, I’ll also be delivering content like video breakdowns, game highlights, and situational analysis. For now, I hope this one gives a clear picture of how Knight’s next contract could take shape.

Thanks for taking the time to read and share your thoughts — I’m really grateful to be part of the HHS community. Enjoy your day!

I thought the Knight contract article was very informative. I didn’t mind the deeper dive. It’s better than some of the usual “fluff” from other hockey writers. Looking forward to your video highlights, etc. once the games are played.

This is Frenchy. I’m not in charge of the site — I only write Blackhawks content here — but I believe comments may need to be approved first. I know this issue has been reported a few times recently, so I can’t give you a full answer right now. I’ll pass it along to the team and hopefully get more clarity for you. In the meantime, welcome to the HHS family!

Just a FYI here Frenchy. Comments need to be approved on the articles you write so there is a time delay before posting. Comments on this forum don’t have to be approved and are posted immediately.

Tomorrow I’ll have a full piece on Rookie Camp — everything you need to know in one place. Thanks as always for your support! Which prospect are you most excited to watch? Let me know, and I’ll do my best to cover it.

Hoping Moore makes the big club this season. I’m looking forward to see Lardis perform too, but he’s probably destined for a year at Rockford. Hopefully both make the transition from NCAA and Juniors to pro and become useful pieces down the road.
