ParticipantSomebody alluded to PDO here recently, I think. Hawks PDO is currently 102.9. Eventually they will regress to the mean of 100.0. But, no doubt the team is playing better. Let’s hope they continue to improve and continue enjoying watching the games.

Participant<p style=”line-height: 27px !important; transition: all;” data-userway-s17-styled=”true” data-line-height-feature-value=”1″>Blackhawks ranked 5th, 5 on 5 goals for.
<p style=”line-height: 27px !important; transition: all;” data-userway-s17-styled=”true” data-line-height-feature-value=”1″>It will be interesting to see how that plays out through the season as it goes on. The shooting percentage will continue to come down to the curve but the Hawks are slowly getting better at getting shots on net. Over the last 6 games we are even in shots for and shots against, with those coming out even at 5v5. I think in part the Hawks were trailing a bit more, so a bit more motivation to get offense going when you are behind, vs the early part of the season where the Hawks didn’t trail for much of time on ice. I think a long road trip like this can help galvanize the team together while they players are learning life under the new coaching staff and in some cases still learning the NHL ropes.
<p style=”line-height: 27px !important; transition: all;” data-userway-s17-styled=”true” data-line-height-feature-value=”1″>I’m sure they are going to look to get the 2nd line rolling again which has been quiet the last few games. I know Bertuzzi has been scoring a few goals, but none of them were while he was on the second line, as he was out there on the PP or with line 3 or 4 for a shift.

ParticipantThanks Coach. Good effort against Edmonton. Another moral victory I guess. Hawks have had a lot of those this season. Seven losses this season as of now. Five by one goal. Two in OT, one in a shootout. One game a 2 goal loss with a late empty netter accounting for that difference. Only one blowout loss, the recent game against Winnipeg. Once these guys begin to learn how to win the close games they’ll start accumulating more points. Goes to show you how one or two misplays in a game can make a difference in the outcome.

ParticipantA rested Hawk team plays their 2nd consecutive oppenent playing a back-to-back. Hawks started out fast in their game against the Kings and I thought they would cruise to a victory. Goes to show you that you have to play 60 minutes. Yes Dots, I hope they learned their lesson. Ottawa put up 7 last night and are coming into the game with some momentum.

ParticipantEarly in the 2nd period, in a late morning game, Rockford leads Chicago 6-0. Moore 1 G, Lardis 2 G, Savoie 1 G, Joey Anderson 1 G and Cates with a goal.

Participant15 to 20 game mark
After tonight, Hawks begin a western 6 game road trip to kick off games 11-20 of the season. We’ll see how they perform and whether they can maintain their approximate .500 point percentage. Hopefully they can keep their heads above water and use the trip as a bonding experience.
If Bert and Mik are injured, will they make the trip with 11 healthy forwards or bring up someone from Rockford for a week or so?

ParticipantReichel
The 4th round 2027 pick the Hawks received back for Reichel is their own which was sent to VAN in the trade for Mikheyev, Lafferty, VAN 2nd round pick. Lafferty moved on and was reacquired. That trade tree can now be looked at as Mik and the 2nd for Reichel.
Mikheyev turned out pretty well for a cap dump. That new trade tree looks pretty good to me also.

Participant<p style=”line-height: 27px !important; transition: all;” data-userway-s17-styled=”true” data-line-height-feature-value=”1″>Watching the hogs last night, looking forward to Moore playing in the bigs he’s the opposite of Reichel he’s a kid who skates with purpose and the team defense will be better for it.
And some of the other prospects had good games last night.
Boisvert with an assist in BU’s 3-1 win.
Mustard with a goal and assist in Providence’s win.
Vanacker with a goal (empty netter) and assist in Brantford’s win.
Nestrasil with a goal and an apple in UMass’s loss.
Gajan give up 1 goal in UMD’s 4-1 win. He is now 7-1 on the season with a 1.25 GAA and .938 Save %. -
