ParticipantHappy Hump Day, everyone!
My new article will be released later this morning: “Where Does Spencer Knight Fit in the Goalie Market?”
I’d really appreciate some feedback. It’s a longer piece with several tables and a lot of detail — I wanted to dig deeper into how we evaluate goaltender contracts. Since I’m still fairly new to HHS and covering the Blackhawks, I’d love to hear what readers are looking for: do you prefer this kind of deeper dive, or something a little lighter?
As the season gets closer, I’ll also be delivering content like video breakdowns, game highlights, and situational analysis. For now, I hope this one gives a clear picture of how Knight’s next contract could take shape.
Thanks for taking the time to read and share your thoughts — I’m really grateful to be part of the HHS community. Enjoy your day!
I thought the Knight contract article was very informative. I didn’t mind the deeper dive. It’s better than some of the usual “fluff” from other hockey writers. Looking forward to your video highlights, etc. once the games are played.

ParticipantThis is Frenchy. I’m not in charge of the site — I only write Blackhawks content here — but I believe comments may need to be approved first. I know this issue has been reported a few times recently, so I can’t give you a full answer right now. I’ll pass it along to the team and hopefully get more clarity for you. In the meantime, welcome to the HHS family!
Just a FYI here Frenchy. Comments need to be approved on the articles you write so there is a time delay before posting. Comments on this forum don’t have to be approved and are posted immediately.

ParticipantTomorrow I’ll have a full piece on Rookie Camp — everything you need to know in one place. Thanks as always for your support! Which prospect are you most excited to watch? Let me know, and I’ll do my best to cover it.
Hoping Moore makes the big club this season. I’m looking forward to see Lardis perform too, but he’s probably destined for a year at Rockford. Hopefully both make the transition from NCAA and Juniors to pro and become useful pieces down the road.

ParticipantHere’s a link to a page showing the Hawks prospects and where they are playing. Click on any column header to sort accordingly. This is good to bookmark since the site will be updated throughout the year with current stats.

Participant’m just hoping for ONE “holy crap” surprise jump in skill level at this event.
Any more than that would be gravy.I’m just hoping no one gets injured at this showcase. I remember a few years ago some goon from Minnesota took out a Hawks player. Don’t remember who.

ParticipantGood morning Bill,
Something I noticed about the forum comments is that you can’t quote a comment that is already a quote.
For example I post a thought. Member XYZ quotes it in his reply. I want to quote XYZ to keep the conversation going, but if I use quote and write my comment, it doesn’t post in the forum.
What I do is create a new comment, copy and paste XYZ’s comment, italicize it, and then write my thoughts. Then it posts. To me, it’s a complicated work around. Maybe I’m doing something wrong?
I could understand not having a lengthy string of comments and all the quotes containing the whole conversation being posted. Maybe the forum comments section could be modified to allow additional responses by just showing the previous comment. Sort of like the way the old HB did it. Thanks.
Forget about my above concern, Bill. I got it figured out.

ParticipantLet’s give it a try.
Thanks Metalhead.

ParticipantAnother thing about posting here. You can’t reply to a comment that already has been replied to. For example – I wrote about this site using capwages. Then Mr. Richochet replied about Kaiser’s projected contract. I tried to reply to Rico, but it wouldn’t take. So I had to create a new comment. To reference Rico’s comment, I copied and pasted it, added the “@Mr. Ricochet” at the beginning, italicized it, then added my own response. See the previous post.

Participant@Mr. Ricochet – Oh, this is nice… But they have Kaiser listed as a projected 5.4 mil cap hit!! Hope that’s not what he’s holding out for……. Kid has 98 NHL games on some downright dog teams and he’s -4 in plus-minus. And the minus 4 was earned 3 yrs ago in just 9 games played as a rookie. He was even the last 2 yrs in 89 games.
Capwages gets their projected contract information from a site called AFP Analytics. They have an extensive spreadsheet showing project and actual contracts, player comparables, etc. I think they base their contract projections alot on % of total cap. With that said, I don’t think kaiser is worth 5.4M either, not yet anyway.

ParticipantI saw a message a couple of pages back asking about the broadcasting crew for Friday night’s football game. Tried replying to it, but my response hasn’t posted.
Anyway, here’s a site that lists the pro and college football schedule, where to watch it, and the broadcasting team. It’s updated Wednesday or Thursday of each week.

ParticipantLooks like Hockey Hot Stove has entered into an agreement with Capwages.com for salary cap information. Go to the HHS home page and select “Cap Tracker” along the top banner.
