    We’ve played 27 games

We’ve won 5 games against teams currently in a playoff spot

3 games in a row was nice but we don’t have the juice

A good team doesn’t lose like this. Especially against a team without hedman, point, and 3/4 of their top 4 defensemen. Igor has faced the most shots and we cannot get any of our own let alone scoring chances

We are not a good team. An average team at best annd our best future assets are our two first round picks this offseason. We have no high end prospects. Perreault could be a first line player but he’s not a franchise player. Mika, jt, Trocheck are all on the wrong side of 30 on long term deals and only Trocheck is remotely tradable. Panarin needs to get dealt and not let walk for nothing. The best case scenario is Fox is out long term and they blow it up (not that I’d wish bad upon Fox, just purely objectively speaking). Not overly enthusiastic about the near future unless Drury loses his mind and does crazy stuff (he’s boring and arrogant so he won’t) or he gets fired

Id be fine with moving Fox out too. He has a NMC so he would have to agree to be moved.

Of course the quote button isnt working.

I agree with Rick, so far, they are just an average team at best, if not for elite goaltending, below average. You cant come home after a win yesterday and play like they did today, good teams just dont do that. We will see how it goes but Im not excited for having Drury run the next rebuild.

Ha Ek has Panarin going to the Ducks. High level discussions!! Why would Panarin waive to go to the West coast? I was surprised CK20 did, is it possible, yes. I doubt it.

This team found the formula to win, get out shot by more than 2-1 and let Igor bail them out. I cant see it not working.

This schedule is a meat grinder for sure, its brutal this year. The next ten games will determine the season, I think, those teams in the playoff position by the New Year will make the playoffs. It will be more than half the season by then, insane!!

Hey they won, they beat a non playoff team. Big deal. The Piles get a number 1 pick and he has helped them into a playoff spot. Our number 1 pick has been on a milk carton for 2 years. There is no way anyone can say this team is better than the one last year. Trading the old leadership group hasnt helped and with the expected declines in production from our top players, as expected, they cant carry the bottom six anymore. The genius Drury screwed up big time. We will see what happens as the season plays out.

Yeah, but for Quick… that was embarrassing at the end.

I dont think it was embarrassing for Quick, why do you think it was. What was an embarrassment was the the tissue crew of our “Core” Panarin, Mika and Fox not even batting an eye after he shot it in the net. I dont want a Morgan Rielly response but show some kind of emotion, it was pathetic and they were all standing within 15 of him. It came down to a 39yo goalie to show some emotion on this team. With just over a quarter of the season gone, this team is nothing more than a .500 hockey team that is nothing more than a bubble playoff team.

    Brukie…

Imo the rangers will be good enough to finish 3rd in the metro. Washington doesn’t seem to have the same mojo this year. Islanders are good but I think they’ll fade after awhile so that really puts us in a decent position. CBJ is the team to worry about. They could be on our tail all season if they start clicking. Perhaps the flyers. Devils and Canes seem a bit ahead of the rangers still so well what happens at the TDL if the Rangers can beat them. Devils are scary good and are a problem for sure

Anyway, The puck luck has finally turned in our favor. Ironically, the night Trocheck came back. I think we’ve learned just how important Trocheck is on this team. He lengthens the lineup which is what they were really struggling with during the goose egg era.

Overall I think we should be buying in, the Rangers are looking fine (most of time) little loose defensively at times but at least they can out score any issues. Shesty had a terrible 1st period, but he really locked it down after that. That was a solid 40 minutes.

    Some random thoughts in guys:

Laf- is maybe, finally, could it be, “arriving”, and at the right time. He looks awesome last few games

Perrault- looked a step slower tonight. Maybe it’s natural just hope they don’t send him down again

Laba- same could be said for Laba. He still looks like a player without a doubt. That was draft pick that should age very well

Cuylle- really playing well. He is the Kreider replacement on the PP. He should be the captain when Miller is gone eventually

That’s my two cents. Miss the daily hourly minute by minute banter like the old days

Way to early to make a definitive prediction. So many games and no one is rolling. My take on this team is still the same. Defense is terrible. Gavrikov is our only steady defense man. The rest continue to miss assignments and play leaky. Only our top 2 lines produce and they are very streaky and inconsistent. Almost 20 games in and still not sure of this teams identity.

I think the saying “US Thanksgiving playoff position” goes out the window this year, even Buffalo sitting last in the east could throw themselves back into the run if the win the 2 games they have in hand. You really cant rule any team out. A bit different in the west but wow Crazy season.

For those that think this team can win, take note that half the league is at about .500, the Rangers can still make a push for the playoffs. This condensed schedule is really screwing up the majority of the teams.

The road team we see vs the home team we see is very strange. It’s like two completely different groups of players lol

Trocheck coming back will help alot. That’s probably what they really miss, offensively. He really makes the lineup whole and

Laba is just a godsend. What a draft pick steal he was (4th rd). He does everything well and seems to banger better every game

Nice to see Laf produce some offense. He’s been really irritating this season (not just him)

The whole league is tight, no clear top team aside from the Avs and maybe the Devils, it will be a foot race because of the condensed schedule.
