Leafs put Woll on LRIR?

That doesn’t sound good at all.

Not sure it changes anything. They had to move someone (Woll or Laughton) onto LTIR to make room for Mermis. He’s eligible to return in a week. If it’s longer term, maybe they use the space to bring in a top 6 guy now and sort out what to do when/if Woll returns.

game day in Buffalo

go leafs go!!!!!

we need the all spark to kick in.

Transformers reference….nice!

But really what Toronto sports fan is gonna watch leafs v barfalo tonight?
Maybe the first period?

Let’s Go Jays!!!

Even if Jays weren’t playing, Leafs are a tough watch these days. Less that they’re bad. More that they’re boring

Heard some cool Roger Nielsen stories about how he was always finding loopholes in the rules when coaching the Pete’s.

* Rules said you could never have fewer than 3 players on the ice. If he was facing 5 on 3 he would keep putting an extra player on the ice and drawing another penalty. It would put another player in the box but stay 5 on 3. This way he could keep disrupting the power play and run out the clock.

* when he pulled the goalie for extra attacker he’d have goalie lay his stick across the net before he left.

+ when facing a penalty shot, he put out a defence man instead of goalie to disrupt the shot.

AHL and NHL changed the rules so he couldn’t do these things

Seattle would be brutal to watch with the time difference.
I hope all games start at 8pm ish EST.

Plus they have more well rounded team with more weapons in my opinion. Hoping it’s a tigers win.
Plus, plus, Skudel pitching tonight and not available for a few games in next round.

Bo, Bassit and Scherzer (?) probably back on roster

Cowan back up

Cowan’s our backup goalie now?

Bold move.

How ya been, Cupsie?

I think Cowan plays somewhere other than in net in the first few games
Life is good here with my hippie brethren. This is a cool, relaxed and beautiful spot. Summer was glorious. Funny to see grass turning green in the fall now that there’s actually rain.

How’s the smoke? You watching Jays or Leafs tonight?

Big ?s for the year:

* How does a healthy Matthews perform?
* Who do Leafs pick up as top 6 addition?
* Does Nylander take another step?
* Does Knies?
* Does D stay healthy?
* Does Cowan push out a more expensive forward?
* Can we stop talking about Marner?

1: I assume he will, he’s looking healthy again
2: depends which team has a shit season I guess
3: he’s capable, are his linemates?
4: hopefully Domi shoots enough so Knies can bang them home
5: he’ll get some NHL time, how much is my ?
6: depends on who is posting lol

I think we’ll see Cowan in first 5 or 6 games. Berube is going to want to try different guys and different combos before Laughton comes back.

What a story to have Reimer back with the Leafs. Such a likeable player and quality human being. This is fantastic!

WTF?

Seriously tho, love the guy, first game while rusty, I would never expect anything amazing from an old guy who didn’t land a contract.
They’re saying Reimer is going in, if that happens I don’t give fuck all about anything else, even if they don’t sign him

I’m going to address this once in this forum. This is a place to talk about hockey, about the Leafs and the upcoming season. If you want to talk about politics, if you want to talk about some of the issues of the day,
….you are free to do so…. just not here. We want to talk about sports, and ONLY SPORTS. If someone continues to bring up politics, they will be blocked from posting on the forums. We want to keep things civil here, and if you can’t do that, go someplace else.

Here’s another idea: maybe someone could try to get this site working properly

No reason to get another bottom six guy. Save the $ for TDL or offseason

Unless they just don’t want Kampf at all and would rather just sign some guy who plays more of a Berube type style for $1.15 mill or less. That way once Laughton comes a back they send the new guy down and if he clears great but if he gets claimed who cares?

To me this just absolute proof that Kampf is done as a leaf, I’m just willing to bet that Treliving won’t move him for practically nothing if he has to hang on to some of his contract.

If he clears Kampf will begin season as 4th line C. Easier to waive him now than mid-season.
