ParticipantMitch Marner shootout dud.
0 for 5 and counting this year.
It’s hard to believe a guy with so much talent and skill can suck this hard at the shootout – it’s almost like he’s not built for high pressure situations or something……..

ParticipantA quick Hildeby stat.
He is saving the leafs two goals on every 100 shots relative to the league average.
Which puts him at the 8th spot, ahead of Hellebuyck. Not too shabby.
Which means absolutely nothing because he’s only played 11 games. If Matthews had maintained his career goal scoring pace after his 1st NHL game, he’d have 2624 NHL goals right now. But it didn’t go that way, did it?
The Leafs don’t have a single goalie that can play 55-60 games and maintain that level of stat over that larger period of time without falling off or getting hurt.

This is where Dipshit UG lives 24/7/365

Yeah, I’m still on the side of this team is a mess.
Both can be & very likely are true!
And for the record I agree with you – despite Angry Eyor who seems to get off on calling people retards or the other clown who is just a troll at this point celebrating any and everything that goes wrong with the Leafs.
The difference (as someone else pointed out) is most of us don’t choose to come here and be assholes about it every single day.

ParticipantStill no news on McMann’s fate eh?
Was googling it and stumbled across this nasty high stick from Trouba 2 years ago – he got a 5K fine for it by the way.
I’m sure they won’t use it as a comparison to try and be consistent, but they should.

ParticipantYou may very well be right about WOLL but I think he’s too young to give up on at this point and the last thing you want is to do so and watch him go and flourish elsewhere. I’ll hope for a healthy Stollie / Woll combo or a Hidaby / Woll or Stollie combo – I mean what else can you do right now?
Oh Im not suggesting to give up on him (trade him etc), I just dont think with everyone healthy, he’s a reliable 1B option. Unless he turns his health around, I think the leafs have to plan for him to be a back up.
Also, is it me…or do the leafs have a problem keeping goalies healthy? Andersen, Campbell, Samsonov, murray, woll
.
Andersen has proven to be unable to stay healthy even after leaving Toronto, Soupy not sure if it was the Leafs or him because he fell from grace pretty quickly in Edmonton, Sammy was hurt often for sure here, Murray was a coming back from surgery gamble here wasn’t he so hard to pin that on the Leafs, Woll 100% though and Toronto has (reportedly) one of the best if not the best medical team in the league. Maybe it’s a combo of overuse of goalies who are starters combined with the way the Leafs allow opponents to take advantage of an ability to crash/run the goalies more than many teams (by appearance)? I mean it’s been that way for a long time here, think Reimer getting more than one conky due to it and it just feels like it’s that way in Toronto.
You just wouldn’t get away with what many teams do vs Toronto and the goalie in most other places, hell in some you would fear for your life like Tampa.
It’s cultural and just being too soft as a team. One or 2 guys can’t be the ones to always protect the goalie, rookie or superstar it has to be everyone.
I hate Tampa (hell and the Bruins) but I have always been envious of their dog pack mentality when they feel they were wronged or their player was run etc. Florida has that now – when did Toronto last have it? Christ JT was the guy dishing out the punishment last night when he felt someone took an extra whack at Hildby – JT…..

Participantso McMann is “suspended from further competition until the commissioner has ruled on the issue.“ His hearing is on Tuesday for high-sticking
So hearing today and what do we think – most teams fine but it’s the Leafs so 5 games? lol

ParticipantI’ve really liked his game since coming to the Leafs, quiet and effective. I saw a clip of him talking to the media right after the Leafs grabbed him and he seemed like a guy who had something to prove – always a good thing.
He and McCabe have been a great pairing too, seems to have allowed McCabe to not try to do too much and he is looking much more like his reliable, tough to play against self.
Good pick up by Tre!
I wonder if the play of Hildeby last few games has got Tre thinking to just weather the storm here until Woll is back and run with Woll and Hidabeast as the 1, 2 combo until (if?) Stollie can come back? Would be nice to not have to give something up to get a temporary solution between the pipes but thinking about how long it would take for Stollie to get back to game shape once he’s finally back on the ice – what 2 weeks? More? The fact the Olympic break isn’t until Feb doesn’t help, they can’t bring Woll back from injury and immediately press him into playing 80% of the games or more without risking him re-injuring himself IMO.
Who knows maybe this is the “I am NHL ready” party for Hildabeast – it’s happened before where an NHL rookie goalie took over from established starters (if we want to call Woll and Stollie that) and never looked back. Potvin in 92/93 is the best example as he stole the net from Grant Fuhr!
Don’t get me wrong I’m not saying that’s the case here at all but maybe Hildabeast is NHL ready at this point, even if it’s to be the back up to whichever of the 2 goalies the Leafs have labelled as 1A/1B is healthy because it doesn’t feel like both will be healthy at the same time ever.
Honestly, I dont think they can use Woll as a full time option ever, too fragile. He seems like a really good back up.
I know they’ll have to do what they have to do in the interim until Stolarz gets healthy which looks to be mid January, now. But long term, I dont believe Woll is a viable starter….hes great….but often injured, cant be relied on.
You may very well be right about WOLL but I think he’s too young to give up on at this point and the last thing you want is to do so and watch him go and flourish elsewhere. ParticipantLeafs just had a road trip where they went 4-2-0 against some real good Eastern Conference competition, and now their rookie goalie posts a shutout against a very good Tbay team.
Called it! Also, some folks here have trouble using the quote/reply function eh?!
Thoughts: how many of AA alts will show up here tonight and will he once again have full blown conversations with each of them all?
Eggs Benny awfully fucking quiet tonight. What a pussy.
lol funny how you don’t hear a peep from that loser or the Unholy Eyor with the chicken little syndrome and room temperature IQ after a Leafs win eh?
Both were probably punching air big time after that impressive Leaf win in a tight game.
or
Rage pounding their pud to a Mitch Marner poster.
Either way fuck em’ both!
Go Leafs Go

ParticipantDon’t look now, but the Leafs are 3pts out of a playoff spot with a game in hand.
Oh but the sky is falling
GGGRRRRrr………
The incel twins can’t derp hard enough or often enough in here eh? lol
Cush29
ParticipantI’m sincerely reaching the point where I hope the leafs don’t win a cup til Marner retires and gets hired as their GM so he can fucking fail too just so UG SHUTS THE FUCK UP
Hey everyone, I’m still thinking that was a solid win over the Pens by the Leafs 👍 Cheers
I agree with 2/3’s of your post Bruce.
I know you know which 2/3’s it is!!!!

ParticipantIs Nylander playing?
Actually, yes. You may have noticed an incredible pass on the game tying goal where if he was wearing #16 you would have jizzed in your pants.
Oh, and he also scored the game winner in OT.
Are you actually surprised? Maybe he missed the Willy display of awesomeness simply due to the fact he was rage pounding his pud after watching Marner miss on the shootout and cost his team a point, not even what a week after coughing up that muffin in OT to – yet cost his team another point?
Vegas has 5 more points & the same # of regulation wins than the Leafs in the same # of games.
Vegas has 5 more OLT points – that’s the difference.
I don’t remember hearing that Vegas had 7 starters out at any given point in the season. Maybe the chicken little crowd needs to chill out a bit?
Great to see Wonder Woll have himself a game and some of the regulars back in the line up.
On to a 5pm game tomorrow vs the Caps – it would be nice if they could go on a bit of a heater.
