ParticipantReichel needs to get in a fight. Even if it’s somebody on his own team.

ParticipantThis thing back up? Per their Facebook page HHS is migrating from a shared server to a dedicated server. Traffic capacity and database needs to be increased. Looks like we lost some of the September 30 posts.
Our Chicago group crashed it.

ParticipantAlex Vlasic is day to day with a lower-body injury and will be reevaluated in the coming days, per the team
Hopefully not the dreaded AA groin injury.

ParticipantOk, my reply/quotes aren’t working for the last two days, desktop or phone. WTF?
We’re still missing Steve from Glencoe and Hawk in the D.Dan Maloneys left hook
ParticipantAs I said, KK has no chance of making the team out of camp.

ParticipantHello everyone, hope y’all had a wonderful summer.
Thanks Boilermaker for directing to this site. Really enjoying CoachFrenchy’s blogs. Clear, concise with ton’s of info, and in-depth analysis.
As far as the team, the old adage wait until after the first 20 games to see what you have really pertains to this team. New systems (again), new players young team will take awhile for Blashill to sort out the players roles.
Welcome back LA. I figure Blashill learned something under Cooper.

ParticipantI can’t get my quote to take….
Replying to MH’s 1:27 post.
I’m still expecting KK to be one of the two remaining to make the team.Dan Maloneys left hook
ParticipantIt’s sad to say but it looks like Reichel is just continues to be a floater when he’s on the ice
It’s crazy that he has such good speed and refuses to use it defensively.
Reichel with a Reichel like night against non NHL competition. He should have lit it up all night.

ParticipantHey everybody! Nice to see y’all are still getting along.
I know I’m jumping in a bit late here, but maybe we let some of the 5th graders KD’s drafted recently show what they can do before launching them for an 8th grader.
We agree with everything everyone says here. Get with the program.(aka rpete)

ParticipantI’m curious to see what becomes of Moore, probably just training camp fodder but they are talking about how his shot looks better already after working on it over the summer.
Moore, Dach, Reichel or Mikh 3rd line may actually be a difficult line to play against and produce some points and take pressure off of the top 2 lines.
I’ve always believed ice your best players. Not a special defensive line and let the other team match up with you.

ParticipantI bet the Leafs regret trading their 1st round draft pick to us to get Mrazek off the books.
That’s why i appreciate KDs approach of not rushing the rebuild like the Leafs did.
Not only regret but Mrazek would have been their best goalie.

ParticipantRico,
I respect your hockey knowledge and your opinion, however I do not agree with moving a RD with top pair probability for a middle six center. Both Artie and Rinzel have that type of talent, and while I’d love for the Hawks to acquire McTavish, I’m not willing to pay that price. Bedard, Nazar, Frondell, Vlasic, and the two aforementioned Dmen are part of the future core, I’d have to be blown away to trade any of those six and I would add Knight to this list as well. Who’s to say Frondell won’t turn into a McTavish, he has the same type of skill set and is actually a better skater.Hey, Lou…….. i think you under value McTavish and by a good bit. He’s not a middle 6 C, look at the numbers, his floor is 2C IMO. Lou, he was drafted in 2021 and played his 18/19 yr old draft +1 season in the OHL and 9 games with the Ducks then his 19-20-21 yr old seasons with the Ducks. In those 3 yrs he put up 43 in 80 as a 19 yr old rookie, 42 in 64 and last yr and 52 in 76 as a 21 yr old!! At 220 lbs. A centerman in the Bigs. That sound like a middle 6er?.
And as great as Rinzel looks and as great Lev’s traits are they have 27 NHL games between them while McTavish has 229 NHL games playing center as a 220lb 19-20-21 yr old who’s scored at a .61 clip. …. Anything we attribute to Lev and Rinzel today is pure projection but with McTavish we have a 230 NHL game sample size.
And before I forget, I meant to post this in every McTavish post, how do you see Bennett? A middle 6er? What would you give for a blood and guts mother humpin bastard like Bennett for all sorts of reasons and boxes checked? …… Remember now, his high pts for a season is 51!!!
I’m not beating the table for McT but I kinda am. Or at least I’m all for swapping out elite D prospect (system strength, for elite forward prospect (system weakness but less so with the Frondell add) and it just so happenes McTavish fits every box of what I’d love em to add. ……….. I guess for another blog is resource allocation? In 5 yrs if Rinzel and Artie reach their ceilings will it cost 40 mil per to pay em? And if so is that proper asset allocation?
Hoping Vanacker becomes our Bennet but don’t sell Moore short.

There are more legitimate #1 centers in the league than legitimate #1 RD’s, so I’m going to respectfully disagree. Look at the Leafs, they have Matthews as a #1 center, who’s their #1 RD? Let me say this, they are both very important positions on a hockey team, however as much as I like McTavish, he’s not a #1 center. The Hawks are in an envious position to have possibly two legitimate #1 RD’s, I would run with them for the next ten years.Riddle me this, Batman…would the Queafs trade Matthews for a #1 RD?
Apples and oranges neither team is making a trade like that. Unless you’re trading Phil Esposito for Gilles Marrotte.

ParticipantAccording to Friedman yesterday, Verbeek is not even listening to the calls coming in for McTavish.
If he ever does listen to calls, it’s gonna take a lot more than a basketful of leftover “stuff” that any fan of
the team making the offer would be willing to get rid of.It’s gonna require giving up something that Hawks fans (or fans of any other interested team) do not want to lose.
Killjoy.

Participantrpete, the club wants to take a step, to get the offense going, to create chances for their young talent. You can’t unlock any of that without some kind of stability in your own end. You can’t be getting hemmed in using 25-30 seconds to get the puck out cuz there is nothing left in the tank for that shift. Or, not being able to steady the structure defensively when the opponent is buzzing and creating chances.
Gryz will bring some stability to a very very young backend and not clog up the pipeline.
Normally yes but our young guys are all so even and how good can a guy on a PTO be?
