Lol ultra right wing, what a joke. They’re moderate conservatives. Progressive conservatives are a plague. And the cities of Edmonton and Calgary are littered with woke idiots. Every city is. Doesn’t matter if it’s Toronto or Alberta.

Wrong. After two weeks, the woke mob shuts the fuck up like they did in Edmonton when they hired Bowman. It’s all nonsense noise coming from people that do not matter.
Add to that success, wins on the ice and then it all goes back to normal, as it should.
Nope, Alberta is hard core right conservative, the origin of the Reform Party and why there are so many ultra right wing cons today who are confused why the more Ontario/Quebec/Eastern style conservatives don’t necessarily see eye to eye with them.
Toronto is liberal/NDP as fuck, so the reaction would be WAY different than Edmonton.
I’m not saying this to be a know it all whatsoever, but yes, there is a notable difference here when it comes to the population type.
Berube was the wrong coach for this team. Berube has always been a mid, average coach, usually misses the playoffs or 1st round exits. The one year he had a Cup, his D and goaltending was absurd compared to the Leafs.
The correct coach was Quenneville. And the Ducks are soaring.
Too bad Toronto is not Anaheim.
Quenneville would never survive in Toronto and even he knows that. A: the team would never offer him anything because of how the media and fanbase would react and B: he would never sign it for the same reason.
90% of the problem for the leafs has 0 to do with the team. It’s all based on its fans, media, and coverage. Makes it a fucking soap opera.
So tonight the top line on the leafs will likely produce something but look sad. The second line will look decent but be way overworked for who they are, Rielly will still be expected to be a $10 mill d man, and the rest of the meh NHLers/decent AHLers will look like who they are.
Wonder how long til Berube stops saying anything and just starts drinking straight whiskey in the dressing room during intermissions?
