ParticipantI wonder if trading futures for Formenton would be a pop show for him here in the big smoke.
The Leafs dont have many futures to trade…..and formenton isnt active until Dec 1st.
The leafs are big enough poop show on their own….dont need more poop show story lines imo.Fakepartofme
ParticipantThanks for someone finally being honest about it Brad.
“If we were not in a no-tax state, it wouldn’t work out, probably for two guys. Two guys probably would be leaving in that situation,” Marchand said. “That’s a benefit that this team has that we able to utilize and make work. I’m thrilled to be here for the next six years.”
Lots of good reasons to play in FLA or TB or Vegas but the math is the math and no state tax does in fact equate to more cap space in those states.
Florida has always had low taxes and its only recently that its become an enticing place to play…..because they’ve been winning….and thanks to some cap circumvention…..which I know….most teams could have done as well. So bravo to them.
Low taxes helps, but if the teams in low taxed states arent winners….most players wouldnt sign there.
Also, no team in their right mind was giving marchand 6m x 6 years….in for teams in higher tax territories….why would anyone want to pay him $8m x 4 or 5 years?Fakepartofme
ParticipantGreat win yesteday.
Keep it going.
Got 7 games against the Rays….gotta win at least 3.Fakepartofme
ParticipantApparently Kaprisov’s camp may have turned down the minnie deal because they believe a bigger offer is out there from another team.
According to EF.Fakepartofme
ParticipantWhat a gem pitched by Gausman yesterday.

Participantthats a lotta chedda
who is going to pay more than that?
Frank Seravalli
@frank_seravalli
Sources say #mnwild superstar Kirill Kaprizov’s camp turned down an extension offer believed to be 8-years, $128 million in a meeting on Tuesday in Minnesota that would have made him the highest-paid player in #NHL history in both AAV ($16 million) and total dollars.i guess he could opt for a short deal now to get a bigger payday when the cap rises a bunch.
what does Mcdavid get then?
He must really not want to stay in Minnie.
They offer a big overpayment and he says no?

ParticipantFun comeback win, gunna be honest I wasnt sure they would do it
also kind of a Big win since the skanks lost.
If the Jays just go 9-9 from here on out, the Yankees would have to go 13-5 to pass them. The Red Sox would have to go 12-4. Houston would have to go 14-3.
Win 10 games and it’s that much tougher. The Jays are very much in control of their fate here. Was at the game last night, it was such a frustrating game until the 9th inning, but they pulled it off. Got pretty exciting fast.
Gotta keep it going.Fakepartofme
Participantthey got the Walk from Marner[/quote]
Yup, he walked the leafs to the bank and to the golf course almost yearly.
