Well I didnt have Roy has a possible trade target for the leafs to move out, but Tre actually got a 2027 1st rounder and the Avs lowest 5th round pick (2026)
Maybe that means Laughton is staying?

thats what I was thinking, they could probably squeeze one 1st out of someone. but doubt much more.
Tre way overpaid for Carlo and Laughton, now he will sell at a big loss. if he even trades them.
Agreed.
No one was gonna pay the price Tre paid for those two players last season.

I’d expect 2nd’s, 3rd’s and 4th’s coming back this deadline…maybe one 1st.

4 or 5 1st rounders? WTF. BAHAHAHA!
Someone is not living in reality as we all know.
Leafs arent trading Matthews or Nylander.
If they move OEL, they could get a 1st for him.
McMann, Laughton, Domi, Macielli…are probably going to get 2nd’s, 3rd’s and 4th’s….unless someone is really desperate and stupid. (Maybe Tre is trading with himself?)

OK, it’s time to get the Tank out of mothballs and start losing. Time to get near the bottom and get a top end draft pick. It’s obvious that the bed has been stripped and the shitty sheets are in the wash. Anyone that wants this team to succeed must get on the tank and get some prospects into the cupboard. The Leafs missed the wave, the change in hockey. Teams that acquired young talent are now riding the wave to the top. Watching the Habs, Sens, Wings and others, it’s not the veterans that get the job done, it’s youth with mobile defensemen that win in today’s NHL. The Leafs started to build a team to beat Florida. The problem with that, Florida too is on the decline. Both teams could miss the playoffs. The answer is asset management and rebuild your draft capital. It’s time for Rielly, Domi, McMann, OEL and Stolarz to move on and draft picks coming back. The only untouchables include Matthews, Nylander, Woll and Hildiby. Now is not the time to be a buyer. Get the assets, fire the GM and Coach, start with a new Coaching staff and use the acquired Cap Space to get into free agency and rebuild. My friends, you can argue back and forth and disagree, but the retool must start this week, and not the end of the season.

The leafs dont have their 1st round picks for the next two years cause Tre stupidly thought carlo and a 4th liner would be worth moving those along with prospects (1 really good one – that I did not want moved) out for. So getting high end prospects by bottoming out wont work.
But agreed on they gotta fill up the cupboards, gotta move out McMann, Laughton, Macelli, Domi and get some 2nd’s, 3rd’s. Maybe OEL for a 1st.
Sure fire the coach and GM, not a fan of Tre….and these players cant play Berube style of hockey – it wasnt just marner who couldnt.

I think the core problem is the captain….no real heart or fight.
Oh well.

They will need some trading partners to move players.
It doesn’t sound like teams are lining up for a few Leafs players available
Still a week out. Things will change…..a bit.

So glad I’ve havent wasted much if any time on watching the leafs (highlights only once in a while), just a sad team.
Even the past 2 years, the team was difficult to watch at times (although last reg season was entertaining)

Im sure Tre will get nothing much for McMann, Laughton, Domi and Macelli…but they need to be moved out.

Off season:
Get a new GM
Get a new coach

Repeat the same results.

The decades a failure and incompetence continues.

Lets get the Jays season going!

I’m fine with Matthews going to the White House to meet the POTUS. Its a once in a lifetime opportunity, NO ONE has the right to judge him for it.

A rapist invites you over to a house they believe is theirs and you are fine with going.

Cool.

hey look at that the Jays trade for a LH bat with some power.
nice buy low deal on Jesus Sanchez, maybe they can unlock a bit more power like with Barger.

*waits for loser reply complaining about stupid shit
This seems like a good trade for the present. He averages 14 – 18 HR’s per season, he’s an upgrade defensively, he’s cheap (1.3 WAR) and under control for a bit.
Loperfido wasnt may not have gotten as much playing time now but in the future could become something decent (Current WAR is 0.6).

Good trade for the Jays.

So I was reading a blurb on the Leafs and a possible trade partner in the LA Kings.
It was Laughton for Foegele +. If the + is a 1st rnd pick, I’d strongly consider moving him.
For me, I’d rather move Roy instead of Laughton.
Getting Foegele might/could happen if the Leafs trade McMann. Foegele could be used as replacement for McMann.

How much do you think McMann will cost?
Foegele is at about $3.5m, is Mcmann gonna much more than that? If so, ya move him out.
However, if he wants $4m, Id take mcmann over Foegele.

But Im not attached to anyone on this team, so move whoever.

All I can say is this: Leafs just need to win every game that they possibly can. It’s obvious that they’re not finishing in the bottom 5. They only have a 25% chance of making the playoffs. They have to hold off Florida and catch either Boston or Buffalo. As the season gets later, the 3 point games will be telling, when it’s time to make a playoff push. The other only reason is, to deny the Bruins a higher 1st round pick that the Leafs traded to them. Giving them a top 10 pick would be disaster. Finishing outside of a playoff spot would make it around 14 or 15. Too many Western teams will have a worse record. The problem is, Florida and Ottawa are also close to the Leafs. They need to get some picks through trades and still be competitive down the stretch. Finish strong and rebound through free agency and having a healthier roster next year.

I agree the leafs are not taking it down to the studs at all and probably wont finish in the bottom 5. Matthews and Nylander are not going anywhere, and if they had to go, teams wouldnt offer much in return and the amount of teams that could take on their contracts are very limited – these are not in season trades and they simply are not happening.
The Leafs may get a 1st for McMann and OEL, but not getting a 1st for anyone else that would be trade bait (Domi, Laughton, marcelli)
This isnt a video game, its reality. Leafs arent doing a full rebuild and getting 10 1st rounders LOL
