ParticipantUG, you through so much spaghetti to the wall, some of it bound to stick.
Moving players above 25 is not wise.
Did he predict all the injuries, which has been one of the main drivers for the leafs lack of success?
He simply whined about baby marner turning down the leafs good offer to run away to vegas.Fakepartofme
ParticipantOk time to sell, sell, sell, sell.
Too many injuries and simple lack of heart and effort to get into the playoffs
Bottom out for a top five pick or simply sell any FA’s.
Laughton for a 2nd – which is all he should have been traded for all you’re going to get now.
Maccelli – 3rd
Jarnkrok – 4th or 5th
Robertson – 3rd.I doubt either of the above gets a 1st, unless the leafs are trading with the leafs.

Participantfucking treleaving traded Minton (13g-12a-25p +15) and that 1st for Carlo
so leafy
Horrible trade. Hated it then and still do.
Tre doesnt seem to be too great at deadline deals.
Hopefully, he doesnt move any more picks or young players this year. Just sit tight or move out vets for picks/prospects.Id still prefer this leafs team finish in the bottom 5 to push our 1st out another year.

ParticipantIt’s got to be in your core group, not just add ons. This is what they have tried the whole Matthew’s era to no avail.
Agreed and this core doesnt have it..never did. Specially with Marner.
But, its difficult to tell at an early stage of drafting…..definitely for the leafs.Ah well….its only entertainment.

ParticipantIt really was. No point in comparing our offseason to the Dodgers, they just do whatever TF they want. Compared to just about every other team in the league, the Jays killed it. Run with this team, see what needs to be tweaked around the trade deadline, then target guys to fill those holes.
It takes a lot of things to go your way to get to the big show, and a lot went right for the Jays last year. Hopefully, they can spark that magic again for another run.
Exactly.
Unless you pay to have all stars at every position which only one team in the league does.Fakepartofme
ParticipantBo might only be a 1 year deal with NYM.
Makes sense for Bellinger to go back to NYY, he is suited for their silly stadium.
I really wish the Jays got/would get Mason Miller ..would be so fun to watch 104mph
Yup. In his presser he didnt seem to keen on staying past one year.
Its the mets, so they have a way of choking, we’ll see.I dont think the Jays will be adding anymore big salary unless they move some salary out. The “extra” money allocated for Tucker will probably go back into their coffers.
Maybe add another cheap RP, or a Brendan Donovan trade?Great off season for the Jays though. Hopefully they get another bat.

ParticipantNo.
I wouldnt trade any of our young quality players for any olders players.
This team isnt winning a cup, keep the young talent.Wright is 22 you retard.
And cowan is younger, so keep him.
You cowardly incel….wannabe american trash

ParticipantBellinger was never coming to Toronto and it doesnt look like the Jays wanted Bo back specially at that price.
Bo was never a power hitter but the Jays could miss his average. He wasnt great a D so that is easily replaceable.
If Vladdy and santander have better reg and Oka simply hits for average and brings in 15 – 20 homeruns, that is already an improvement on Bo.With Gausman, bieber, Cease, yesavage, ponce, berrios along with Lauer and Francis, their starting pitching is set and able to succeed with through injuries.
I’d like to see another bat as other players could have down years.
Fakepartofme
ParticipantWould you trade Cowan for Wright?
No.

ParticipantWow.
Marner does nothing in a big game. No surprise.
The leafs dont show up in a big game. No surprise.Three things can be true, Marner is a soft reg season points getter who disappears when it counts and the leafs still have a team of no shows led by Captain rarely lays in on the line and management has been horrible with allocating cap.
I see the little insecure boy is still on here spewing his maga empty headed nonsense.
Dummy: “the leafs need marner to win”
Us: We had marner for 9 years didnt win anything and he disappeared in games 5 – 7, every series. When it counted and got tough.
Dummy: “thats everyone else’s fault, you retard”What a low life moron.
Marner would have costed the leafs $14m to stay – but he didnt want to…HE DIDNT WANT TO.
So far he has 52pts
Roy, Maccelli, and Joshua cost about $9.2m and have 48pts together and the leafs still have $5m available. So toss in JT and his 44pts at $4.3m
So for $13.5m the leafs have 92pts from 5 players or they could have had 52pts from one player. Now not saying all the above are the best way to spend $9.2m but its not the worse.
Had the leafs been healthier this season they would be in a playoff spot.Fakepartofme
ParticipantLeafs “fans” in the building are going to embarrass themselves tonight. I don’t blame Marner for getting out of town. Those fans should direct their ire at management.
Yes Marner bled every last dime he could from the Leafs, but they gave him that contract.
Nope.
Boo the crap out of him….and they did.
nice.Fakepartofme
ParticipantJays are spending ridiculous money on payroll already.
3rd highest in the league plus a huge luxury tax penalty on top of that.
Jays improved their staring pitching
Jays improved their Relief pitching
If Santander gets back to hitting a minimum 30hrs and Oka hits at least 19 HR’s, their batting will have improved as well. But Im sure, some will still whine

ParticipantWas offered VIP tickets to the opener of the Scotties Tournament of hearts (Curling) in Mississauga tonight (includes food and some booze apparently).
LOL Should be a good time.Fakepartofme
ParticipantThis is wrong. The Leafs were “good enough” last year to beat Florida 3 times. That’s more than Edmonton. That’s more than Carolina. That’s more than Tampa Bay.
They did not beat Florida but they got closer as anybody else did. With the injuries the Panthers have had this year, they are not the same threat this year. Had the Leafs brought back Marner and created an improved version of the team they had last year (dump Rielly, Tavares, among others) they would be the best team in the Atlantic.
Its not wrong.
You have to win 4 games…who cares if they won 3 or more than edmonton etc. That means nothing.
Bringing back marner might have gotten them 2 more wins than they have now. Marner did nothing for them in the playoffs, this has been proven over and over again (disappears when it counts) and dumping a $4.5m 0.86 ppg player in JT would not have improved this team. Had they brought marner back at $13.5m/$14m, they’d have absolutely no depth (they’d have more crappy AHL’ers in the line up with all the recent injuries) and would have had no money in the off season to create an “improved” version of the team they had last year. That’s just stupid, quit living in a fantasy world, thats just stupid …..but expected from you.
7-9 years with marner….the leafs accomplished nothing. Marner isnt/wasnt the solution to this team…just another high priced soft player.Anywho, for the leafs sake, they better squeak into the playoffs to avoid giving another quality prospect to boston.
Fakepartofme
ParticipantThis team is not going to make the playoffs by desperately hanging on for loser points. Problem is they probably aren’t good enough to take the game to the teams above them in the standings on a consistent basis.
Honestly, this team hasnt been good enough for about 7 years now. They really need a reboot (ala boston and so many others), Tre/dubas has really screwed this franchise over.
Waisting 1st round picks last deadline will set this team back for a while.
They’ll end up just outside the playoffs or squeak in just to lose in 5. Either way whatever. -
