That suggests they are going to hire a new hockey president rather than have Tree report directly to Pelley.
My guess is Pelley already has his guy. Wonder who it is?
It’s not just this year. Rantanen is one of the best playoff performers statistically in NHL history. It’s every year with this guy.
Marner earning even the same as Rantanen let alone more is absolute folly. There is zero justification for it.
It’s time for Tree to grow a set with both Marner and JT and give them the Stephen Stamkos treatment: here’s the number, take it or leave it. We’ll see how badly they want to be Leafs.
