Seems like another underwhelming hire.
Stay away from Desnoyers. That will be another pick that haunts the Flyers if made IMOI am not familiar enough with either coach to be able to form an informed opinion.
As for Desnoyers, I am always a little leery of players from the Q, the guality of competition especially on defense always seems to be a little lacking.
It seems there has been more and more noise about McQueen lately. I wouldn’t be surprised if that is who the Flyers pick.
If I am Dallas I let Duchene and Granlund walk so I have enough to resign Robertson. Trading him to keep those 2 is stupid.

At the time it was very much up for debate whether he would ever be able to come over to NA.
I really don’t agree with this. The only comparable people kept using was the Fedotov situation and that was because he tried to skip out on military service. Plenty of other Russian players were coming over all the time. He was never not coming over. Now if you want to say the three year wait was a factor then I can agree with that. But there was never any real doubt he would not be in the NHL within three years.
McQueen’s my preferred pick at #6. He possibly has the highest upside in the entire draft, he’s huge and he plays down the middle.
He is definitely the biggest Hail Mary swing. I’ve seen many reports that he is totally healed. That the problem was misdiagnosed and it turned out to be bone related and that the bone is now completely healed.
I just think the Flyers are too gunshy after what happened with Patrick. His combo of size and skill is exactly what the Flyers need, do they have the guts to take that chance?

Here’s my prediction:

The only other folks posting are so negative by default that Bill will get fed up with the daily downers and they will turn on Bill the second he defends something the flyers do.

The Athletic put out another mock and has them taking Martone at #6.
They have Cullen Potter at #22 and Prokhorov at #30.

Why cut ties with him? If anything it shows those outside the organization that it values loyalty. People see that and it DOES actually matter. It hurts nobody to keep him on as an advisor, probably while he shops himself around for another coaching gig. Now whether or not he gets another coaching gig is another story. I don’t see an issue with it as long as he isn’t behind one of the benches.
