Well training camp is coming fast. New season fresh start from mgmt on down.

MM at the helm cannot wait to see his systems & development plans for the kids & vets. The PK is a sore spot idk if the roster will change it much. I rather govus on line dynamics & how he constructs them. Time to suggest more line combos cuz I cannot help myself lol

I will assume Cootes goes to Abby & DeBrusk traded in season or the TDL. EP going nowhere.

Chytil EP Karlsson chemistry & a playdriver

Ohgren Rossi Boeser BRO line stays intact

    DeBrusk Raty Lekerimaki Raty/Leki time

DOC Cotter Gallagher speed grit energy

    Sasson platooning with Gallagher

    Buium/Hronek expectations are high
Big O/Willander growth time for Willy
    DPetey/Schenn grit & mentoring time

    Kudryatsev/Mancini depth platooners

Now that Kane isn’t an anchor on EP40’s line points will go up. Expect Karlsson to be given another shot since they found chemistry. The 3rd wheel will make or break what upside for points is reasonable. No Hughes for break outs will be a factor to overcome. I can see 25 goals 40-45 apples being a minimum expectation. Idk how the PP will affect his points with Hughes gone. Hexwasn’t exactly ripping it up anyways.

    @Booner

Rentals are overpriced, but they have been slowly dropping. Hopefully that continues, as my Daughter is a renter and was paying a high-price until a few months ago that was more reasonable.
Of course, all that can change if they do LNG expansion.

What is overpriced? For example a nice 1 bedroom condo in a high rise in Surrey fetches $2k/month. Yes I expect prices to go way up once LNGC phase 2 ramps up. Unavoidable sorry to say.

The dog days have gone into who will step up for Helleybuck. When will the Wings get a GM & where or if Larkin moves. High ask for Marchenko. Boring times.

Will DeBrusk open up his team list or this there a lowball offer out there? The noise around EP40 has quieted. Looking more & more like camp & ex season will come without more trades. Will Cootes crack the line up or use the 1 19yr old spot & go marinade in Abby. Riley Patterson will be one to watch to see how his 1st pro season goes. Will Kudryatsev get his shot in the NHL full time? Raty’s time is now & curious how much TOI he gets. Is Lekerimaki ready to shake injuries & take the next? Ohgren imo will make a bigger impact after adjusting to the trade. Can Rossi be a true 2C & push offence? Can Chytil play more than 5mins before going back onto LTIR?

    @Nighthawk

Ship him out, return isn’t important. The team will be better off.

    How & where?

Let’s say Cootes cracks the line-up try this?

    EP Rossi Boeser
    Chytil Cootes Karlsson
    DeBrusk Raty Ohgren
    DOC Cotter Gallagher/Sasson
    Lekerimaki

Til Debrusk is traded. Ohgren moves to his spot. Lekerimaki into Ohgren’s spot. Sasson & Gallagher platoon. Safonov to Abby probably.

“Seattle trading for EP. Alvin is there… that contract is one of the reasons he was fired… he knows Petey sinks ships… he knows how much he’s over paid”

Huge mistake rest assured Rutherford was in there as well. Henrick saying “EP40 needs to figure out what kind of player he wants to be?” JFC! The guy has been in the NHL for 10 years!!!

All I’ll say is he’s a flake and the team is better off with him.

8yrs not 10 that is some real Trumpy math you got going on lol

As for flake yup just like a few others traded away.

Constant bs to log in is getting annoying.

Onto EP40. What is in the past doesn’t matter. What McDavid gets paid is irrelevant. They’ve won nothing. That is all on mgmt & now the dregs of lowlifes running their show.

As for EP40 the prime window to trade him came & went. Doesn’t matter what we say or think of him now. All we can hope for is he comes to camp fully committed & in top condition. He has to play out of his funk & mgmt has to move DeBrusk still. I rather look at the bigger picture there will be 2-3 years of draft & develop. Same time for MM to install his system & culture change. No rush to bring in prospects let them marinade & force onto the team &/or call ups. Tanking for a minimum 1 season has to be part of the plan. Maybe around year 4 or 5 is when to expect PO pushes possibly year 3 if things take off. Cup contending to far down the road to even speculate on.

I want to see fast north south hockey & call ups to get experience. 100% commitment to top physical condition. Motors that don’t quit. W’s & L’s idc about I want ops to be pushed to the max against a hard to play against team night in night out. More banging & bruising.

The only thing in that CA article that is accurate about EP40 that resembles any kind of reasonable explaination to his huge decline is “off-ice circumstances”. The rest is hyperbole. He’s been called out by teammates for a reason, he doesn’t get invited to off ice functions such as weddings, dinners for a reason. The guys an introverted flake who’s collected his money, he’s 100% okay riding the status quo out in Vancouver. He doesn’t set a good example for this impressionable young team.

I wonder how much of his wife having 2 miscarriages in 2 years over that period contributed to him becoming such an introvert? Sounds like a recipe for depression and symptoms of.

I got over our miscarriage reasonably quick when I was in my mid 20’s but seeing the depression my woman went through for the next 6 months brought me down quite a bit. We decided to try again off and on over the next 2 years without success and it started tax our relationship quite a bit. It didnt end well.

People say there is no excuses but it’s not your life. If he cant pull out of it, time to move on but it’s never as simple as the “experts” claim it is.

VHG rather delve into character assassination & treats EP as some sort of machine not a person. Later 20’s isn’t exactly like a 30-40yr old who has to learn & survive & survive from life’s knocks.

As I see it EP40 comes to camp in top condition. He is the only one that control the demands expected of him. Psychologically if it is hindering him he has to face it & grow from it. If not a reset is needed & a change of scenery is needed.

His scoring & shooting has fallen off huge his defensive play & led the NHL in C shot blocking has not. Also not having optimum wingers doesn’t help. Boeser isn’t exactly as dangerous as he once was. DeBrusk is a compliment that doesn’t the dynamic duo role. Lastly poor regimes didn’t add key compliment 3rd wheels for top 6. The D has been another issue other than Hughes & Hronek. The rest were inept at any good breakouts & more often hemmed in their own end. Dump outs their specialty to only have teams come right back at them.

In the end it’s a new season & fresh start & all eyes on EP40. All up to him. Staying or going won’t change the roster problems & challenges on the ice.

    Should have drafted Lawrence.

I said it a number of times, Malholtra may be the 3rd best C in this draft after Bjork and Lawrence. Trust in the scouts? No. They have not earned it because its the same failtards as before. They can definitely earn my trust with this recent draft… or completely trigger me into rage…. lol. Time will tell. I do have a better feeling about this draft than the last few but picking high, multiple 1st and 2nds will fill anyone with optimism.

Imo scouting picked for an all around game & project CM’s growth trajectory to continue. I stated to pick a D or trade down. I doubt many top 6-8 teams had CM as a target & why it didn’t happen or scouts were fixated on CM. Lawrence injury & slow start in the NCAA could be why he dropped & teams went with the safer pick. It will all come down to CM proving he’s at least an elite 2C or better. He should try to be in the Bergeron category type. All situations & top leader. He’s got some big expectations on him.
