1C Rossi
2C Malhotra
3C Cootes
4c Raty5C The extra guy EP40
Too funny 🤣🤣👍🏻
Imo EP will get some leash to see if comes to camp with a better mindset & in high condition a must. No reason he cannot be a 60-80pt bounce back story. Give him the wingers that bring out his best for that I’d put Chytil on his wing to drive play or Ohgren as the digger once Chytil sneezes & pops a rib. Other side Larlsson for chemistry. Boeser with Rossi. DeBrusk also til traded.Chytil(Ohgren) EP Karlsson

ParticipantI am fine with the draft strategy and think Malhotra is a nice pick.
If it wasn’t Caleb, then I was hoping for Rudolph who I have said will be the best defenseman in the draft.
We’re there some players I would have preferred, sure, but not going to complainI agree on Rudolph but Carels only knock is he’s a lefty & ranked him as top D if handed ess was ignored. Strange Reid fell so far must be a red flag(s) on him. I’m satisfied with the safe pick with CM. He needs to take it to another level at BU. Get stronger & faster be nice to start with. If he stands out as a team leader would be the ultimate.

Participant@ Playoff Jim;
Maybe they build something that can compete with the heavy US teams.
I’f like lines 3&4 to be big fast in their face.

ParticipantInteresting day 2 picked size & skill early. See if Rogowski is going to develop or bust. Aaram Olsen a nice pick but needs higher competition to push him. Both can help the farm get restocked down the road. I don’t know much about later picks if anything.

Participant33rd… Preston, Mutryn, Olsen, Håkansson, all worthy of the 33rd imo.
At 41, they could take a shot at the goalie Tobias Trejbal if he’s still there. Highest ranked goalie. Ben Macbeath might be a decent D pick at 41.
I’m all for Preston at 33 & Villeneuve if he slides to 41st. Lane Hutson clone I’d take the chance on maybe Hakansson or Goljer or if a 4th straight F Mutryn or Cali.

Participant7 GMs passed on Reid. 1 & 2 were layups so let’s say 5 GMs passed on him. I didn’t think it was an overly strong draft anyways so I don’t care.
I agree after 1 2 gone the rest are middle 6 type F’s & possibly a couple top 2 D. Carels I liked most & Reid has the skills. Of course never know with 17 & 18 year olds wherever picked. If the Canucks can get 2 NHLers that impact games it’s a great start. The rest develop & compete as role players. The next year in junior after next season we will see better how they transition.

ParticipantMy thoughts as well back to the OHL. Excel & dominate for a year while working on what told & taught in training camp.
His overall tool kit will be needed once he develops.

ParticipantBR’s scouting report
24. Vancouver Canucks: Adam Novotny, LW/RW, Peterborough Petes (OHL)
24 of 32
2026 NHL Draft – Day One
Strengths: Skating
Weaknesses: Would love to see him create more offensively
Pick Grade: A+
B/R Rank: 15
Analysis: We had Adam Novotny ranked at 15th overall; the Vancouver Canucks getting him at 24th overall feels like a steal. He has, without question, been the best player left on our board for a minute. The only analysis you need about this pick is that he is precisely the kind of player that the Canucks need; he’s got an Energizer Bunny-level motor and efficiency, skates incredibly well, and is developing his creation ability.
If you are a defender who has to go up against Adam Novotny one-on-one, make peace with your god now. You aren’t the one who is coming out of that scenario with the puck.
Novotny is engaged in every aspect of the game; he can create in multiple situations, and he’s an absolute beast on the forecheck. If you were to ask which prospect was most likely to make opponents cry out of sheer frustration, Novotny would be the answer. There isn’t a single shift where he doesn’t make his presence known and make an impact on the game.
He’s incredibly efficient, impacting all areas of the game and menacing opponents both when he has the puck and when he doesn’t. He can create on the cycle and off the rush, and it has felt like his offensive game has been developing further even over the latter half of this season. He’s intense on the forecheck, and he’s got speed that will burn most opponents.
Combining all of that with his offensive skill and the fact that we see his strengths consistently, he really projects as a power-forward type. Before his game rounded out, it was thought perhaps he’d end up more of a sniper; it was nice to see that develop further this season. Novotny will not need as much of a runway as many of his peers.Nighthawk
ParticipantBleyl off the board almost made it to 33rd. Could be a very good fit for the Preds.
Day 2 the Canucks need to have a good day.

ParticipantFor round 2 I’ve got Preston Bleyl Shilov Cali & Goljer on my radar.
