Wow! That game today was a beauty. Talk about clutch and gut wrenching to watch. This team could be a team of destiny, with unusual ways to win games. Fun to watch a game like that.

Took a look at the new Hockeybuzz earlier. Way too cluttered. To much to see and where do you go to see your teams threads? I guess they could have spruced it up, but it’s definitely overkill.

One idea is to sign Carter Hart for a 1 year $1M contract, then trading Stolarz for a package of picks and or prospects. Stolarz is in the last year of his contract and he’s going to want a huge raise. Stolarz was very good last year, but as usual, has injury issues. It could also be his career season and at 31 years old, he may just become Jack Campbell 2.0. Leafs should consider Hart as a backup to Woll, who’ll be the #1 going forward.

I will die on this hill. Rielly will suit up in the blue and white for at least three more seasons, at which point he has a 10 no trade list. Then, maybe, he’s gone.

You’ll be right but for the wrong reasons. Leafs management doesn’t have the brains or the balls to lean on him hard enough to trade him.

Give him the Marner treatment, if he can’t get his game together. Ever since he got married, he hasn’t been as good.

Not sold on McMann. I’d like to see them move him, on the back of his 20 goal season.

He was horrible in the playoffs. He has done well for himself, found him on the scrap heap for nothing but he’s got more value in a trade than to the Leafs long term. He only has 1 year left on his deal, on the cheap and 20 goals to his name. He’s always been injured so get value now before he goes down again and really gives you nothing.

I agree. McMann isn’t young. His learning curve is at it’s zenith and he can only go one way and that’s down. Cash in on his cheap contract and 20 goal season. You might get a second rounder for him from a team that needs some scoring and think that he’s a bargain.

    Like the Joshua Tree.

Our left side is massive: just giant hunks of man flesh… McManly, Joshua Tree, Lorentz, Knies.

Not sold on McMann. I’d like to see them move him, on the back of his 20 goal season.

Actually, this might work out fairly well. If he can return to form from a few years ago, he can provide some depth scoring. Seems to me like the Leafs are moving away from being overly top heavy on the scoring side to spreading things out across four lines. He plays a physical game, no? Big boy for sure.

purely looking at 5v5 stats, he had 1 big outlier season in 2023, big PDO bender and sh%
the season before and this last one were both…not great

risky, doesnt give me a lot of hope.

Agreed. But big body, throws hits. Not bad qualities for the playoffs. If he scores 15 and hits, he’s already better than Robertson.

If he can come in and solidify the 4th line, then, by all means. Size and toughness is required to get through Florida. Some may say, the Leafs are ignoring other Atlantic Division contenders and think it’s foolish. Florida has been to the Finals 3 years in a row and they aren’t slowing down. It’s imperative that the Leafs lock down home ice in the first round. Florida, Tampa, Montreal, and Ottawa are all tough teams to play against. The Leafs could finish first again, with less points and still be a better team than last year.

Someone started paying attention and saw the state of the Leafs threads. That can’t be good for them.

Ek saying that it was glitch in the system that got everyone banned.
It was posters from all teams that were banned.

Just weird he never replied to anyone who tried to contact him about it.

No way it was all glitchiness.

That’s nonsense. I was banned in the Blackhawks thread. It was deliberate.

It’s usually best to keep the LHD on the left and the RHD on the right, except in rare situations like the PP.

I was saying Tanev is not Seth Jones, not Carlo. But you’re right, neither is like Jones. Jones could take over a game. He did more than once against the Leafs. The Leafs don’t have that, on the left or the right. They just have Rielly who does have tremendous playoff puck luck offensively but terrible defensively. And year after year, it’s cost them in the playoffs.

I can agree with this. The Leafs do need another above average Right-handed defenseman. They keep floating Karlsson out there. If they’d take Rielly off of our hands and gave the Leafs $2M retained for the last 2 years of Karlsson, than go for that. It could also include other pieces, where Pittsburgh gets a player like McMann or Robertson and the Leafs get a second rounder, or a good 3rd line forward in return. Would Rielly like to play with Sid and Gino? Back with Dubas? Let’s see if that could play.

I highly doubt he’s the next Benoit unless it’s in context of a guy nobody knew that turned out solid. He’s a puck moving defenseman that hasn’t been able to do that very effectively in the NHL yet.

He could be just a piece going elsewhere, in a bigger trade. All of this smoke about Karlsson coming over from Pittsburgh could be a prerequisite to a larger transaction. I’m not convinced that Karlsson is the answer. If he reverts to his Norris Trophy mode, then maybe. But he’s on the wrong side of 30, so I wouldn’t bet on this occurring.
