Edit: Actually, this might work out fairly well. If he can return to form from a few years ago, he can provide some depth scoring. Seems to me like the Leafs are moving away from being overly top heavy on the scoring side to spreading things out across four lines. He plays a physical game, no? Big boy for sure.

purely looking at 5v5 stats, he had 1 big outlier season in 2023, big PDO bender and sh%
the season before and this last one were both…not great

risky, doesnt give me a lot of hope.

There is nothing about Marner that reminds me of Gilmour. DG was all heart and lots of times willed the Leafs to playoffs wins. Marner shits the bed and cries cuz he didnt get his way
