I dont think Treliving is very good and not the person I want trying to win now or rebuild. if last TDL wasnt enough to show his moves are very mediocre at best, i dont know what to say.
I just saw he also tried to trade Cowan and Danford for Brayden Schenn.

take the keys away before he does more damage

where did read that? That would not be a good trade for the Leafs.🤮👎

was in Kyprios article in the Toronto Star…

In his column with the Toronto Star, Kypreos added: “Cowan was close to being sent to the Blues last season in a package with defence prospect Ben Danford to bring back Brayden Schenn, who the Leafs desperately wanted to go head to head with Panthers bruiser Sam Bennett in the playoffs. But word is it was St. Louis GM Doug Armstrong who was reluctant to pull the trigger.

Do the Jays have an elite closer that they can rely on to win Game 7 of the World Series with a 1 run lead in the 9th inning vs the 9th batter yet?

    No?

    Fantastic.

only 7 months to figure it out. panic!

Due to this being the 2nd year the Jays have gone over the luxury tax, they will be charged an additional 30% on top of their current $279m payroll.
If they add Bo or tucker, they will be charge another 60% on top of the 30% because they will exceed the threshold by $60m.

This years Jays team could cost over $500m.

    Something will have to give.
    Berrios is out the door?

yeah, right now to sign someone like Bo or Tucker it 90% tax

Tucker is a better positional fit at this point. But they would need some moves

Probably takes them out of resigning Bo and maybe signing tucker.

I think it reduces the chances a little on Bo, but I guess have to make the moves when they present themselves.

I havent paid a lot of attention to the Leafs this season overall. cuz they suck and are boring.
but I see they are last in the NHL in penalties drawn. not that the PP would help. but its hilarious the leafs have been bottom of the league for a decade at drawing penalties

Big difference between an 18 year old, one-way winger and a proven two-way winger in his prime.

    Nice try though.

they needed one in 2015 when they were rebuilding
but dont need one in 2026 when you say they should rebuild

ok got it, makes total sense

Y’all feel like talking? We all knew this was coming, well, we didn’t really, we just suspected they’d implode with a bunch of top-end guys who aren’t really passionate about hockey (the earring boys) and the guys beneath them are largely a lunch bucket group.I mean Tavares is 35 years old and he’s carrying the offensive load for the Leafs. I’m sorry, it’s over.

meh making the playoffs 9 years in a row. eventually teams start to decline.
i think they could still do a semi rebuild on the fly and not totally wipe the team out, but have to get rid of Treliving and Berube. together have they tanked the team

If the Leafs blow up the entire team, trade Matthews, Nylander, sure. But he’s small and a winger. He doesn’t fit with what the Leafs actually need. He’s another Taylor Hall. Which is fine, but not what the Leafs actually need. He’s not a RHD and he’s not a center and he’s pretty small. Those aren’t bold selling points.

Remember, Yakupov was #1 once upon a time. These small wingers bust all the time as #1 picks.

small wingers the leafs dont need?

    Gavin McKenna

    Mitch Marner
    Right Wing — shoots R

Dubas/Keefe had flaws, but the teams were better

I wasnt a fan of the Treliving hiring from the start, mainly because he didnt do much in calgary and the same is playing out with the Leafs. but has he ever gradually ground this team to awful.
Burube is a shit coach also. but a bad combo. just a downward trend all over

Not if it means losing Bo and not signing another bat/reliever.

Apparently the Jays have just over $600m to spend, half has already been spent.
Bo, Bellinger, reliever better than tucker imo.

Unless its Tucker and Bo….well then go with that.

Tucker is the best player available, if you can get him..do it.

the reliever can be figured out after, make a trade (Miller!), but also a lot can happen with relievers over 162 games, its easier to trade for them. there are always elite closers available at the deadline.

Pass on tucker if he wants $418 over 11.

    Sign Bo 5years – $150m
    Sign Bellinger 5 years – $150m
    Grab another reliever

give me tucker, I dont care about the number
