Big series now, Top 2 teams. Go Jays!

ParticipantConnor McDavid is in no hurry to sign an extension with the Oilers, and he’s comfortable entering the season without a new deal.
cuz he wants to be a maple leef

Participantoverall decent results from the weekend. Still 5 games up thanks for Boston.
Sweep the 3 against minny, then its Milwaukee for a tough series. all games at home, so thats goodadding this
MGR John Schneider has alerted his 6 Blue Jays starters as a group to be ready for creative twists to a 5-man rotation. With Lauer now Wed. would allow trio vs. Brewers of Bieber, Gausman, Scherzer, with the same 3some at Yankees Sept. 5-7. Extra rest one time would help Berrios

ParticipantNot even in the slightest, there will always be some idiot willing to part with a car payment to watch the Leafs.
I would gladly pay what I pay for car payments for Leaf tickets.
which is zeromaybe also why iv never seen a leafs game in Toronto

ParticipantThe Beibs getting the start Friday. Would be huge if he can be a legit starter the rest of the way. Max is starting to heat up also.
SP has been a weak spot.Lauer out of the Pen for now.

ParticipantOoooh, I just noticed that when you log in now, it returns you to the previous page/forum you were on, rather than kicking out out to the main HHS page. That was something that annoyed the crap out of me.
The new HB looks slick, but is annoying AF to navigate and follow comments. They gotta get the quote function fixed here, (aka a reply doesn’t include ALL the related comments), but I think this place is a lot closer to being the new place for hockey talk.
I just delete the other attached replies, and leave the one im responding to. its an extra step, but can live with it for now

ParticipantNice win for the Jays. Vladdy Clutch

ParticipantVlad <> Matthews – In TO for entire Career
Bichette <> Marner – Leave as UFAsenstrolltwo
ParticipantEvery yank ball analyst that has been on Sportsnet lately for a hit has said Bo is a $170 – $185m player on the open market.
We dont need Bo for 10 years, plus I think he will probably have a big drop off in about 5 years. Also, we already have anchor of contract in vlad.Id even do 3 years at $28 per.
He is going to get 8+ year deal. he is a UFA its his time to get his payday.
here is a good breakdown, projections 173-265 for 8 or 10 years. I guess it just depends how he projects out.
https://jayscentre.com/news-rumors/toronto-blue-jays/bo-bichette-extension-look-like/so far he has been 4.5 rWar /162
so if you project he is a 3 war average over an 8 year deal, that lands in the 216mil range (27m per season)
So i see 200 mil no prob for himhappy to be wrong and he gets 6x20m with the Jays
senstrolltwo
ParticipantNo.
Id do a 5 year $125m.
We have a potential Bo replacement coming up.
Keep it short termnot a chance that happens. he gets 200 mil as UFA easy min.
hes 27, 10 years 250 mil would be fine.
it doesnt feel like it, but he leads the entire league in Hits. by a dozen

ParticipantI read a proposed deal with Pittsburg.
Maple Leafs Acquire:Bryan Rust ($5,125,000)
Rickard Rakell ($5,000,000)Penguins Acquire:
Nick Robertson ($1,825,000)
Jake McCabe ($4,491,898)
Matias Maccelli ($3,425,000)
Easton Cowan ($873,500)It would be hard for me to do this deal. So I would not do it.
gross. no thanks
senstrolltwo
ParticipantDon’t think you can get a 5mil consistent 20g 50p type guy with another year on his deal after coming off a career year for anything less.
I would wait, esp dealing another 1st. See how the team plays to start the season. Unless some great deal fell into their lap.
The should have more cap space than they ever have. Another top 6 forward is prob the need. but other needs might pop up half way into the seasonsenstrolltwo
Participantshould the Jays pay Bo 200-250mil?
just hit 3r hr, pay this man his money

ParticipantI think we are seeing the death of HockeyBuzz, or certainly the death of that site as we knew it. The new site looks more modern, but is actually worse in almost every way for the members. Casual visitors may like the new format better, but regular forum members who came for the commenting are going to be turned off by the new comment system. No quote posting (what is it with sites lacking that basic shit now?), no threading, no private messaging, and a bunch of social-media fluff like emoji reactions and like/dislike thumbs. It’s not good.
And what’s with the poor customer service girl trying to hold people’s hands in the comments and post video tutorials on how to use the fluffy stupid features nobody asked for or wants? Is she still there? Bless her little heart. Have the wolves run her off or eaten her alive yet?
Well, it might have seemed like updating HockeyBuzz would give HotStove something to worry about. I think it’s the opposite. Ek just did HotStove a huge favor.
My two cents.
oh the site us unusable now, just trash. I see there is an Unholy_Goalie commenting, which totally makes sense since its trash
