Yup, this is SO TRUE eh UG!!!!??
how can you get rid of the wrong guy when the wrong guy did not want to be here in a Leafs jersey anymore.

Wrong. Marner did not want to leave. The Leafs (and the retard fans) forced him out by making him the scapegoat to relieve themselves of blame for another failed season.

If Marner wanted to leave, he would have gone to Carolina. He refused. Then he got Larry Murphy’d. The Leafs were wrong and now they suffer the consequences.

    Stenberg at #1.

    https://www.sportsnet.ca/nhl/article/scouts-analysis-ranking-the-top-45-prospects-for-the-nhl-draft/

He had a goal disallowed vs. Canada due to high stick but he showed excellent hand eye to get to it.

Still to play a real team this year.

How many real teams did Nylander get to play this year? Oh right, he’s golfing.

there a lot “excuses” going on about a former Leafs player
it was never his fault but always the players he played with.

Quite clearly, the players he played with sucked this year and were a lottery team without him while he leads the playoffs in scoring. Clearly, the “problem” wasn’t really the problem.

That’s not to say he’s perfect but clearly, the Leafs fucked up and got rid of the wrong guy. Some retards just can’t admit it.

Could Jay Woodcroft be the next Leafs coach?
I would prefer Manny Malholtra myself.

Neither one makes this team a contender. 9th place is what matters.

Absolutely incorrect. Marner is a great player but he’s not a generational talent. That’s McDavid. He did better than anybody else in Toronto, more career playoff points than Matthews, Nylander and Tavares. The media and the franchise ran him out of town but the team failed on the ice because it was constructed poorly. He did not have to leave to have this success. The team and the market simply needed to be constructed properly.

A lot of people, and many pundits, remember the overtime, Game 7 against Boston when he let his check go, that being David Pasternak, and scoring the series clinching goal and watching Boston advance instead of the Leafs. Fast forward a couple of years and his response when he was getting slashed in a close game against Florida, last year. He did nothing, he didn’t slash back or show any push back. It was like he was backing off, instead of standing up for himself. If he’d stood up and slashed back or did a face wash, he would have garnered more respect. Granted, where was his team-mates to come in and push back? It’s what we’ve seen from this team, including him, for more than 2 decades. Blue and White disease. Loving the accolades but not handling the pressure of the most rabid hockey fanbase on the planet. It’s why there’s such disenchantment for the players making max money. The fanbase is sick of the mercenary tactics of the highest paid players on the team.

Those people and pundits are absolute retards. Go and watch the replay. Seriously. Stop whatever you’re doing and go watch the full highlights.

Marner had just jumped onto the ice and Pasta did a loop to reach full speed. It’s physically impossible for Marner to jump off the bench and match Pasta’s stride and speed. Funny how nobody realizes that Rielly was standing flat footed 10 feet behind the blueline and handled the dump in like shit. Or that Samsonov stayed too deep in his net instead of poke it away when it was 2 feet from his crease. Or that the dump in itself hit the boards and bounced to the perfect spot. Nope. Have to blame Marner 100%. Why? Because Marner Derangement Syndrome is strong. It’s the Russiagate of the Leafs OT losing goals. You should know better.

Wrong again. If Marner had slashed back, he takes a penalty and gets blamed again. The dumbest of Leafs fans absolutely always need a scapegoat. It’s the only way their blue and white brains can function. And the media, that owns the team, loves having somebody but themselves to blame to win the PR game. Good thing they blamed the guy, pushed him out of a town and went from 1st to last in the division. Good strategy. Worked great with Larry Murphy too.

It has nothing to do with the pressure and everything to do with the team was built like shit. The “pressure” is what pushed him to leave and succeed somewhere else because he got tired of being incorrectly blamed for bullshit that was somebody else’s fault while guys like Matthews, Nylander and Tavares can fail as hard as they like and nobody seems to give a fuck. If Leafs fans really gave a fuck how much their players make, stop voting for radical Liberals and NDP who make the taxes so insane, the players don’t want to play here unless the team makes up for the tax rape they experience from the government at all levels.

I wonder when the Leafs will start shopping one of their goaltenders. Some of the teams that made it into the second round, but failed to advance due to average goaltending, should be looking at Stolarz. Freeing up that contract could make it easier in free agency to acquire some defensive help. The Leafs need to shore up the center position in the bottom 6. Once round 3 starts, the complete draft positioning will be set. Now that the California teams have been shut out of the third round and moving forward, the West Coast teams will need to upgrade their goaltending to make the next step. Hopefully, the Leafs are ready to try and fleece a desperate team that wants to jump over their geographical opponents.

Stolarz and Woll aren’t worth dick on a stick. They are both 1A goalies with a long list of injuries. Until they can prove they can stay healthy, they won’t get you jack shit in return.

too bad he did not play like that for the Leafs. eh ….

Too bad the Leafs and their dumbest fans were too stupid to keep him and continue to build a better, more balanced team around him.

Too bad he played better than Matthews, Nylander and Tavares did but he was the one that got blamed.

Too bad how the Leafs push great players out of town to succeed somewhere else.

For 9 years marner couldnt get it done in Toronto, couldnt handle the pressure. Had plenty of opportunity to step up when Matthews was injured in the playoffs, but he never did. Also having him getting paid $14m on the leafs wouldnt have gotten the leafs in the playoffs this this year anyway.

    Old news.
The female hating pedo that loves to stroke it to marner in here really needs to get a life or go cheer for him in the vegas thread.

As usual, wrong. Marner did his job in Toronto better than Matthews, Nylander and Tavares. He handled the pressure until they forced him to leave.

Again, you’re retarded. If Marner was on the Leafs, they 1000% make the playoffs. You’re a complete retard to believe otherwise. They went from 1st in the division to last. The only major difference? No Marner. Accept reality.

The libtard needs to get a clue and pull his head out of the anus of the CBC.

Marner is an incredible player. Generational actually. He was, however, not built for the hometown Toronto glare, media attention, and scrutiny. There is nothing wrong with that. It does not change the fact that he is an amazing player. The change in location was necessary for him to reach the level he is at now.

Mitch Marner leads the NHL in playoff scoring and played amazing in two different Game 6s to help eliminate two teams and is now in the Conference Finals?! Unpossible!

I guess it all doesn’t count because his hair wasn’t wet enough or some other retarded excuse.

Anaheim is the #1 comeback team in the NHL. Coach Q won’t let these guys quit. Hart has to keep his usual shitty goal against out of the net this game.

Mitch Marner most definitely did not screen the goalie perfectly for a PP goal. Won’t get a point but that’s normal because it’s Game 6 and it’s unpossible for Marner to play well in a Game 6.

Mitch Marner definitely did not perfectly set-up Howden for a shorthanded goal because it’s Game 6 and it’s unpossible for Marner to score points in a Game 6.

Brett Howden, who had 9 career playoff goals prior to this year, now has 8 playoff goals since playing with Marner. Funny how that works.
