ParticipantIt’s long overdue, a Maple Leafs ticket revolt. I’m tired of subsidizing 2/3rds of the NHL with Revenue Sharing. Let the southern teams dry up, whither and die. They already get all of the tax benefits and we still send them money to keep them operational. There should be a 3 year moratorium on Revenue Sharing. If you can’t make it, in 3 years, you’re franchise is relocated or folded. Enough of this sh!t!
Except Leafs ticket prices would be completely unaffected if they eliminated revenue sharing.
Ticket prices are not tied to costs – it’s simply supply and demand.
I hate that the price I pay for tickets partially funds weaker clubs, but if revenue sharing was eliminated, MLSE wouldn’t lower ticket prices – they would simply make more profit.
Having said that, I would like to see the NHL adopt a soft cap like MLB – I strongly believe that baseball benefits financially by having big market teams have a slight advantage.
You either love the Yankees or you hate the Yankees, but either way, you are paying attention to them.
100%.
There should be a soft cap of 5-10% of the total cap that teams are allowed to go over for a brief period of time. Perhaps limit teams to only 3 overages every 5 years or something like that. Additionally, include a dollar for dollar tax that goes directly to revenue sharing so that weak teams can still benefit from the system.
Perhaps also look at a franchise tag type of provision that allows teams to grossly overpay one player without it counting against the cap so teams have better odds of retaining their cornerstone player.

Yes, amazing plan; boycott the tickets that nobody can afford!
I’m sure every corporate entity will join the cause.

ParticipantWe should have PTO`d Lucic in retrospect. Big, mean, tough and a proven winner. The guys could have learned a lot from his leadership and character.
Probably going to overpay Roslowvic now ffs.
I will be VERY pissed if this happens.
Prepare to be pissed.

ParticipantNope. Not sure you get it, son. But moving on…
I love how mad you little fat computer incels get eh. So ferocious. So serious and tough.

#manginaEvery time you post, the CTE lawsuit against Junior C leagues gets bigger. Hope you get a big settlement for the severe and obvious brain damage you have received. Then maybe you can hire somebody with a room temperature IQ to quote posts for you since you’re clearly too mentally disabled to figure that difficult process out for yourself.

Super sweet cumback. Showing all those 23 IQ eh little fella.
* also, she’s your grandmother too – so show some respect.
Admitting to fucking your own mother is enough to end your little retarded evening.

Participant1. AA – tiny armed, pencil neck twat. Shouldn’t you be challenging people to fights on the internet versus talking hockey?
2. ug: * overrated – you low IQ imbecile. How are you gonna eviscerate people when you can’t even spell overrated? Clown.
You should have to provide your player profile in order to post on these sites. Commenting on shit you have no idea about and getting away with it is nuckin’ futs.
If you want your comeback you can scrape it off the back of your mother’s throat.

ParticipantI was just reading a mock trade proposition for the Leafs and Vegas ….
Carlo for Karlsson, a 1 for 1 trade.
I say no way jose.
Leafs will need their Dmen after Rielly is traded. eh!!!ps. I don’t think Rielly will be traded anytime soon.
Leafs can’t afford to lose more RHD when they already are short a RHD.
Carlo is overrated. He doesn’t use his size and defensively isn’t nearly as good as he was in Boston. But he’s still a RHD and the Leafs need him more than they need another soft winger who had 9 goals and less than 30 points last year. Karlsson, at 32, has peaked. Not worth it for the Leafs as they already have a bad habit of bringing in has beens.

I’d give him a PTO too because there’s nothing to lose and no risk but Lucic has been a pylon for a long time. Since he left Boston, he’s been useless in the playoffs and basically a 4th liner since 2018.
Don’t think the Leafs missed much on that one.

ParticipantAs of today, it looks like this…
Knies | Matthews | Domi
Joshua | Tavares | Nylander
McMann | Roy | Maccelli
Lorentz | Laughton | Jarnkrok
Robertson | KampfOEL | Tanev
Rielly | Carlo
McCabe | BenoitWoll | Stolarz
Key weaknesses:
Rielly. Defensively, he’s useless and offensively he’s not nearly worth the money anymore even though he’s the Leafs #1 offensive producer from D-men.
Tavares days as a center are numbered. His FOs are still strong but his defensive game absolutely sucks. Leafs would also be better off with him on the LW.
Bottom-six centers suck at FOs. Roy is not a good center, he’s a better winger. Same goes for Laughton. Leafs would be much stronger with both of them on the wing.
No 3rd RHD. Leafs keep getting burned by having to play a LHD on the right side.
Kampf and Jarnkrok still being on this team. Both suck in the playoffs, both are overpaid and both are soft. They need to go and that extra money needs to be better used.Don’t think this team can beat Tampa Bay much less Florida without major upgrades to their many weaknesses.

ParticipantTechnically there are only two playoff no shows on the team: Marner and an injured Matthews (which I think is a big problem that’s been hidden for seasons).
The bigger problem for me was the bottom 6 not contributing and Stoli getting fucked in the ear by Bennett. I feel both of those issues have been solved in a few ways.
Marner, the dry-haired motivational speaker, is out so I am very interested to see how this all pans out. Don’t care about individual points or winning divisions. I want a playoff team that is just doing their thing during the season and then kicks some some serious ass in the playoffs. Plain and simple. I think this team is closer to that than it has been for a few years.
Technically, Marner has more career playoff points than everybody on the current roster. And technically, you’d be retarded to consider him a no-show when he had 1 GWG and 2 GWA vs the Panthers.
The Leafs did nothing to fix the team, just filled it with a bunch of 3rd liners and added zero high impact players and brought back the same losers like Tavares.
If Florida targeted Stolarz, what is going to stop them from doing it again? A new 4th line pylon who sits in the press box during the playoffs?
How dry is Nylander’s hair? I’d say it’s perfectly dry, especially after his disappearing act vs the Panthers. How many goals and points did Nylander have in Game 4-7? Zero? Nylander feasted on a weak ass Ottawa team and then wilted vs. the Panthers. So did Tavares. Another true no-show vs. the Panthers.
This team is not closer to success. It took a step back and it got worse. The rebuild is around the corner as soon as Matthews takes off next.

ParticipantProblem is that I joined HB over 20 years ago and no longer use or remember the password or email I used to sign up. Switched from Hotmail to Google email ages ago. I’ve had no luck trying sort it out.
Most of the old site info is gone so I guess just make a new account with the same username and carry on.

ParticipantCant get into hockeybuzz. No idea why but cant log in so here I am. Any roomers, news, activity in getting rid of Jamrock and Kampfing? Trying to find anything Leafs related while on vacay but some sites work here and some dont. Most of my apps dont. Anyone help a brother out? Any signings? Max P news?
It’s not that difficult, you just need to use the “forgot password” option, go into the correct email that you registered the account with, reset the new password and go from there.
Unholy_Goalie
ParticipantWeird Roslovic guy… why? Is he much better than Jamrock or Max P? Wasn’t he healthy scratch in the playoffs for his last team or am I wrong? When talking DNA does have more of what we need than Max P?
Roslovic absolutely sucks. Gives the puck away easy, soft player, career -37, 3 career playoff goals in 45 playoff games.
He scores 22 goals, at his best, and sucks at everything else.

ParticipantI read a proposed deal with Pittsburg.
Maple Leafs Acquire:Bryan Rust ($5,125,000)
Rickard Rakell ($5,000,000)Penguins Acquire:
Nick Robertson ($1,825,000)
Jake McCabe ($4,491,898)
Matias Maccelli ($3,425,000)
Easton Cowan ($873,500)It would be hard for me to do this deal. So I would not do it.
I propose a deal where Edmonton gives us McDavid and we give them a conditional 7th round pick.
The condition? If the Leafs win 5 Cups in a row, they get to swap 7th round picks with us in 2035 AND one crisp, unrolled, roll up the rim to win Tim Hortons cups.
The funny thing about “proposals” is anybody can make them up. Doesn’t mean they’re real or remotely logical.
There is no chance in the world the Penguins are trading their #1 and #3 goal scorers (both 30+ goals) before the season starts and in return they get McCabe (2 goals), Robertson (15 goals), Maccelli (8 goals) and Cowan (0 goals). Saying NO to this deal is the cherry on top. Pretty sure Crosby would tie Dubas to his garage door and shoot pucks at him like his childhood dryer in Cole Harbour if the Penguins even thought about doing this deal.

ParticipantSeason will be decided by the goaltending. If Stolarz is still statistically the second best performing goalie behind Hellebuyck and Woll is healthy and good, they’ll be a strong team again. Maybe not division winners, but there’s no clear regular season* favourites for the Atlantic.
Stolarz (career high 34 games) has never played a full season (50-60 games) and neither has Woll (career high 42 games). They have two capable back-ups, a 1A and 1B situation but both have injury concerns. If that’s what determines the Leafs success, it’s more of a gamble than a sure thing. Case in point, Stolarz got hurt twice last year, Matt Murray ended up playing in the playoffs which is exactly why the Leafs are planning to bring in Reimer to be the Marlies goalie / 3rd stringer on a PTO. They know their goaltending can go from hero to zero very, very fast.
And to the people who think “well Bennett knocked out Stolarz on purpose blah blah blah” is the only reason he got hurt, if your logic is correct, they will do it again and the Leafs will be right back where they were last year.
The Panthers are clearly the favorites both regular season and playoffs. Their team is basically the same. The only reason they won’t threepeat is if Bob acts his age or if they get ravaged by injuries.
Tampa Bay still has Hedman, Kucherov, Point, Guentzel, Hagel and Vasilevskiy so with that much MVP power, they’re not done being a threat either.
