ParticipantThis place would be a whole lot better with one little improvement.
More of a subtraction, really.

ParticipantAt least HB kind of works. This one is just too frustrating
How hard can it be to create a website where people can post things and discuss hockey?
HHS: Literally, fucking impossible.

ParticipantJoshua to the Leafs
no idea if thats goodDon’t think this moves the needle much, wasn’t Laughton shaping up to be our 4C?
Edit: Actually, this might work out fairly well. If he can return to form from a few years ago, he can provide some depth scoring. Seems to me like the Leafs are moving away from being overly top heavy on the scoring side to spreading things out across four lines. He plays a physical game, no? Big boy for sure.

ParticipantSomeone started paying attention and saw the state of the Leafs threads. That can’t be good for them.
Ek saying that it was glitch in the system that got everyone banned.
It was posters from all teams that were banned.Just weird he never replied to anyone who tried to contact him about it.
No way it was all glitchiness.[/quote]
Welp, I guess I’m beyond saving as my ban still seems to be in place, WELL past the period that Dozzer said it should have been. No real loss, my only goal was to trigger AA with my avatar. But I’m sure he’s seen it here while impersonating other folks.WHIPPER
ParticipantIt’s usually best to keep the LHD on the left and the RHD on the right, except in rare situations like the PP.
I was saying Tanev is not Seth Jones, not Carlo. But you’re right, neither is like Jones. Jones could take over a game. He did more than once against the Leafs. The Leafs don’t have that, on the left or the right. They just have Rielly who does have tremendous playoff puck luck offensively but terrible defensively. And year after year, it’s cost them in the playoffs.I can agree with this. The Leafs do need another above average Right-handed defenseman. They keep floating Karlsson out there. If they’d take Rielly off of our hands and gave the Leafs $2M retained for the last 2 years of Karlsson, than go for that. It could also include other pieces, where Pittsburgh gets a player like McMann or Robertson and the Leafs get a second rounder, or a good 3rd line forward in return. Would Rielly like to play with Sid and Gino? Back with Dubas? Let’s see if that could play.
Why would Pittsburgh take the worse player in the trade and then retain salary?!?!?!
And why they hell would Rielly go to Pittsburgh?!?!

ParticipantI know almost nothing about Thrun, but considering we got him for a $1.3M cap dump attached to a player that brings almost nothing positive to the table, I can’t imagine Thrun is going to make any noticeable impact in the NHL. Hope I’m wrong.
I haven’t been paying much attention to the Leafs lately, are there really Karlsson rumors? Gross, avoid at all costs. Not what we need at all.

ParticipantReaves dumped to SJ for Thrun.
Cup to Toronto now right?
No, silly, it was already headed here before moving Reaves out.
This was punishment for convincing Marner that Vegas was nice*
*punishment for not convincing him earlier.

ParticipantI read the Leafs may have a hand shake deal in place with Roslovic. The Leafs would like to move a body or two before bring him in to the team.
Don’t forget they have Robertson as well to deal with.Isn’t he terrible defensively? I’m not as worried about the offense from our forward group, we need at least some defensive forwards. Matthews and Knies are fine, but JT, Nylander, Robertson, MM, Domi, Robertson, etc. are pretty terrible. People (myself included) kinda want to move on from Kampf and Jarny, but if you replace them with purely offensive forwards, this team is in for a world of hurt.

ParticipantYou have to wonder if this is going to make it harder for the Leafs to re-sign Matthews once his current contract is up. This new CBA will literally cost Matthews millions out of pocket.
If matthews keeps his disappearing act in playoff games 5 – 7….would we really want to resign him?
If in the next 4 years matthews hasnt led this team to a couple of cup finals..or even one cup finals and several 3rd round appearances…..Im ok to move on from him. That is a valid point, Matthews needs to nut TF up.

ParticipantNot sure how accurate it is…but only about $1.2m difference.
Bro, are you serious?!?! If your boss said to you “we’re making some changes and you’ll be taking home 15% less,” you’d just be cool with that?!?!
That’s $1.2M per year! On an 8 year contract, that’s almost $10M!!! Nobody can convince me that doesn’t give some teams a HUGE advantage.

what will the cap be in 2028? around 120 mil?
If AM signed for the same cap % as his current deal, that would be 16.68m
so call it 17, would he sign for that?guess it depends what Mcdavid does
They sign matching $15M contracts, and share the C:-)

Not as bad as I thought it would be like I mentioned. I’m sure a banker/investor/etc could play the game beautifully
True, but I’m sure they’re also currently doing that, so any change to the CBA will still have a pretty serious impact on the tax gymnastics they’re able to do.
