This is just retarded. Pissed just at the idea of them inquiring? Just asking questions?

The Leafs would be a better team with McLeod at league minimum than with Kampf. Same goes with Formenton at league minimum over Jarnkrok. Foote is better than having no RHD at all on the 3rd pair and he’s better than Myers too. Dube is a small skill guy but he’d fit in the top-6. He’s got a better history of scoring than Maccelli does, that’s for damn sure.

If the Leafs have the opportunity to improve the team by signing these guys for cheap contracts, they’d be stupid not too and so would anybody being pissy about the team improving over a bunch of bullshit they were NOT GUILTY for.
    ~Ignorant dumbass

Formenton was even in the damn league when this all went down, but you think he’s a better option over Jarnkrok even after not playing for several years?!?!

Sure, they were not guilty of anything criminal, I agreed with that when I said they should be allowed the opportunity to play. But that doesn’t mean they didn’t make dumbass decisions that would hanging over the locker room and be a major distraction.

Yes, I don’t want players like that representing the team that I love. That’s why I ridicule Oiler fans for Kane and Bowman.

If these 5 players had names like Bedard, Matthews etc. in them do the players get suspended right away? Is the outcry to ban them from the league the same?

    I personally don’t think so.

I’ll have to disagree with you on this. Legit, if ANY player in the NHL had charges brought against them, they would be immediately suspended. There probably is a “out” clause in every pro sports contract for cases like this. Players in the NBA and NFL get suspended all the time for legal issues.

I also don’t think the players would be successful in suing the league for lost wages. The NHLPA is obviously fighting for them, and they may land some kind of settlement, but that’s about the best they can hope for IMO.

Do I think these players should have the opportunity to return to the NHL? Yes. Will I be pissed if the Leafs inquire about any of them? Also yes. Will I ridicule Oiler fans relentlessly if they stoop to the level of signing any one of these guys. Absolutely, yes.

This will be completely unpopular but….People are shitting on these guys because when they were kids they had a girl that wanted to party. 95% of 17-18 year olds would have done the same thing under the same circumstance. The only crime here was the fact that they lost years of salary. This has been a shit show clown circus right from the beginning.

That’s more of an indictment of hockey culture, or perhaps society in general.

EM is not without blame. Unless all of the players and witnesses came up with a corroborated, wild story, she wasn’t exactly an unwilling participant.

Keep ya dick in ya pants, boys, or be willing to live with the consequences.

Not guilty, but still pieces of shit.
    Headaches the leafs dont need.

Yup. Just because you’re found not guilty of a crime, doesn’t mean you’re innocent of being a garbage human being. I’d be very disappointed if the Leafs touched any of them.

And yet, you think some team is going to take on that anchor contract. Absolute fucking lunacy. You are the type of fan that makes Leaf fans look bad.

Oh, and just to remind you, Marner is gone, will always be gone, and he personally hates you.

The part you fail to realize is that just because he doesn’t fit with the Leafs anymore doesn’t mean another team can’t or won’t take him. Karlsson had an anchor of a contract. He still got traded.

Rielly has been here too long. The change of scenery will do him well and he still has value to a team trying to make the playoffs like Seattle or Vancouver who will probably lose Hughes sooner rather than later.

The Leafs fans that make everyone look bad are the retards who celebrate losing elite players but are still okay will being stuck with inadequate players like Rielly.

The reality is, there is nothing Tre could have done to keep Marner, and there is nothing he can realistically do to move Rielly. He’ll be a magician in my mind if he can somehow move 44 without getting absolutely fleeced.

Give him the Marner treatment, if he can’t get his game together. Ever since he got married, he hasn’t been as good.

The Marner treatment is running an elite player out of town because of idiocy.

Rielly has been here the longest and has never been good enough, like Makar for example, to lead the team from the backend.

It has nothing to do with his marriage. Or cocaine. Rielly is what he has always been. Bad at defending. He tries to skate and pass his way out of trouble and makes too many mistakes. When he was capable of scoring 20 goals and 70+ points, he was worth it. Now, he just makes too much money for 41 points and being a defensive nightmare.

And yet, you think some team is going to take on that anchor contract. Absolute fucking lunacy. You are the type of fan that makes Leaf fans look bad.

going to be interesting if the Leafs move Rielly.
I think they will need another puck moving Dman to replace him, unless the trade is for Karlsson

I will die on this hill. Rielly will suit up in the blue and white for at least three more seasons, at which point he has a 10 no trade list. Then, maybe, he’s gone.

This place would be a whole lot better with one little improvement.

    More of a subtraction, really.
